It wasn't that Li Ziran's standards were too high. The things in these glass cases were simply too hideous to look at.
Embryos with split-open bellies floated in solution, completely exposed to the air.
A plastic tube was connected to every organ. At the end of those tubes sat some kind of Element Stone, with what looked like a testing instrument beside it.
It looked quite sophisticated, but in the eyes of a master like Li Ziran, it was terribly primitive.
The instruments kept flickering, seemingly feeding back some kind of data.
When Li Ziran looked at the embryos, the old man appeared greatly pleased, like an accomplished man displaying his proudest work.
"These are... embryos?" Li Ziran asked strangely. "You're researching these?"
At that, Zhu Ya beside him became somewhat displeased. "What kind of tone is that? You make it sound as if we specialize in producing these weapons of war. Li Ziran, we seized all of these from the battlefield. Their threat was simply too great, so we kept them for observation."
"Weapons of war?" Li Ziran asked again, equally puzzled.
"Of course. Aren't they? You've seen it yourself. These things destroyed many of our outposts. Demons are using these Elves to arm every soldier, and they have now become the weapon that gives the Human Race the greatest headache. I truly don't understand which bastard came up with such things. He must be an evil, bizarre fellow with some twisted obsession."
Li Ziran could not help looking himself over. As far as his personal conduct went, he seemed fairly normal, didn't he?
"Zhu Ya, don't talk nonsense. This is a master's masterpiece." The old man at the side hurriedly reprimanded her, then chuckled at Li Ziran. "Young man, don't take offense. Although these are Demon weapons, for
