Rooney stared at the newspapers not far away. They were filled with accounts of his depraved acts in the Derivative Space, including no shortage of condemnation from the creatures of the Red Soil Continent directed at him, a councilman.
Even he knew how evil it was.
Though he was now trapped in this dim underground space, he could imagine the horrifying situation outside.
A place to stay.
Even that most basic wish was probably impossible now. Given the Triangle Council's nature, they would simply execute him.
Not to mention the recent war. Though he had not participated, everyone believed he was the chief culprit behind its defeat.
He could not survive!
There was no chance left.
He silently watched Li Ziran. This man had appeared here to squeeze out his remaining value, and all he wanted was Rooney's most deeply hidden memories.

"I can tell you, but not only must I live, I must live a little better." Rooney stared fixedly at him, as if waiting for Li Ziran to bargain.
"What standard do you have for living well?" Li Ziran chuckled. "If you mean holding high office and great power as before, then sorry, the chips you can offer are not enough, and I cannot do that either."
"No one can recognize me. I need money, and of course, I need women too," Rooney said quickly.
