Such a method was truly rare. Although these spaces could not withstand the Devouring Curse at all, there were so many that before one layer collapsed, another had already taken shape.
At first, Li Ziran could still catch glimpses of Dan through the cracks. A quarter of an hour later, however, there was nothing but layer upon layer of fragmented space, with attics everywhere he looked.
These spaces were as fragile as paper, yet the technique was as irritating as a fly. Dan was clearly within arm's reach, but he could not get a firm hold on her.

Another layer of space shattered, revealing yet another fragmented attic. Even the loom had not been woven into existence.
This space was even more fragmented than he had imagined. Li Ziran instinctively used the Devouring Curse, and the newly formed spaces immediately broke into fragments, plunged into the curse, and vanished without a trace. Yet another attic appeared before him.
Densely packed, endless, and relentlessly persistent.
Li Ziran stopped. He knew full well that continuing like this would leave him lost in these spaces. It was frightening. These identical spaces had already formed a simple maze, and they were not illusions. They truly existed.
Everything he did now was wasted effort. In a maze, what mattered most was direction.
An arrow that pointed toward his target.
Dan no longer had the slightest ability to resist.
He needed to find his bearings now, but how could he locate Dan amid such chaotic space?

A figure appeared in his mind. With a flicker of his consciousness, a lovely figure appeared beside him. It was none other than Aimier.
This was the means Dan had used to control him.
