Background / History

Maki is one of the first-year students gathered by Satoru Gojo when Lu Lu formally joins Jujutsu High. Already frustrated that Gojo has interrupted the class’s training time, she is immediately hostile toward the prospect of another transfer student. 10 11

When Lu Lu enters the classroom, Maki questions why someone who appears to possess no cursed energy has been admitted. Lu Lu responds by insulting her, provoking an immediate confrontation. 12

Personality

Maki is blunt, impatient, and highly committed to training. She reacts sharply when Gojo disrupts practice and openly voices her doubts about Lu Lu’s place at the school. 10 12

Although quick-tempered, she retains restraint in combat. During her first clash with Lu Lu, she chooses to attack with a kick rather than her naginata because she already considers him a classmate and does not intend to seriously injure him. 12

Lu Lu’s strength and the appearance of Star Platinum provoke an unusually emotional response from Maki, causing her normally composed fighting style to become more aggressive and reckless. 13 14

Maki possesses exceptional speed and physical strength, enough for her kicks and weapon swings to produce powerful impacts and afterimages. 12 13

Lu Lu’s Enrollment

Maki is among the students introduced to Lu Lu after he officially joins Jujutsu High. She objects to the interruption of training and is skeptical of the new transfer student’s apparent lack of cursed energy. 10 12

First Confrontation with Lu Lu

After Lu Lu insults her, Maki destroys a desk and draws her naginata. Despite her threats, she limits herself to a nonlethal kick; the strike injures her leg when Lu Lu’s body proves as hard as steel. 12

Three-on-One Training Match

Maki teams with Panda and Inumaki against Lu Lu. After Panda is eliminated, she attacks Lu Lu with her naginata and nearly lands a thrust while Inumaki immobilizes him. Star Platinum becomes more solid, breaks free, and knocks Maki unconscious with a strike to the neck. 13 14

Aftermath

Following the match, Maki remains unconscious while Yuta is assigned to take her back to the dormitories. 15
