Background

Qing Lin lived in Stone Desert City and had long depended on the Desert Iron Mercenary Group for food and shelter. Although captains Xiao Ding and Xiao Li treated her kindly, she endured years of abuse, discrimination, and physical violence from others because she was a half-snake person. 21 22 23

Xuan Qing found Qing Lin being assaulted in an alley and dispersed her attackers, killing one mercenary who continued to insult him. Terrified by the violence she witnessed, Qing Lin initially believed that Xuan Qing would hurt her as well. He and Xiao Yi Xian instead reassured her, and Xuan Qing healed all of her accumulated injuries with a medicinal pill. 21 22
