After breakfast, Xia Lun returned to the study alone.
Golden morning light streamed through the glass, tracing the wooden desk in gold. Specks of dust floated in the warm glow.
Xia Lun sat down but did not begin his review right away. He picked up his coffee and took a small sip.
Before the coffee reached his lips, faintly bitter steam rose into his nose. Warmth touched his tongue first, followed by bitterness. A moment later, the bitterness opened into the rich aroma of coffee.
The warm liquid flowed down his throat, and Xia Lun immediately felt more alert.
"Coffee beans from Herno Strait." He closed his eyes and savored the taste. "It's much like the coffee from the Bottomless Coffee Cup. Heating it may have brought out a deeper aroma, though."
After a moment, Xia Lun opened his eyes and set down the cup. He went to the safe and took out the Brown Notebook he used to review his performance in scenarios.
Regularly reviewing his actions was one of the quickest ways to improve, no matter the circumstances.
The stat increases and raw combat power granted by the Game Panel were undeniably obvious. That made it easy to overlook the growth in experience that came from playing the game itself.
That growth was less visible, but it was just as important as improving one's stats.
Xia Lun opened the Brown Notebook with his left hand, picked up a pen with his right, and began writing his review of the third round in Chinese.
