Konoha Hokage Building, top-floor strategic conference room.
The spacious conference room was suffused with a steady, satisfied atmosphere.
Around the massive panoramic sand table of Konoha sat the representatives of the core clans and senior officials who had been deeply involved in the Five-Year Plan over the past five years.
Five years were enough to leave marks, deep or faint, on many faces. They were also enough to bring profound changes to Konoha's territory and its very character.
Nangō Kumoi sat at the head of the table. His bearing was more composed than it had been five years ago, with less of the sharpness of a newly appointed leader and more of the calm assurance of one in command of the bigger picture.
His gaze swept over everyone present, and a faint, satisfied smile touched his lips.
As the Hokage Assistant, Hiruzen Sarutobi was the first to deliver a concluding report. The report scrolls before him were piled high, but his words were clear and efficient:
"...In summary, over the past five years, the public welfare projects under the 'Bedrock' initiative have fully covered Konoha's core residential districts and the new city in South District, with resident satisfaction continuing to rise;
the Red Leaf product line has captured forty percent of the high-end market in the Land of Fire and has begun spreading into neighboring minor countries, with average annual profit growth remaining stable above fifteen percent;
the first group of Ninja Academy students to receive the complete new curriculum will soon graduate;
the Ninja World Daily now reaches more than ninety percent of Konoha households... Financially, the village's overall income has increased by more than three hundred percent compared to five years ago, and our strategic reserves are ample."
The string of solid figures brought smiles to everyone's faces.
