"What happened? The Blood-Eye Plague was actually shaken by some strange thing..."

Merial stood atop a cliff at the edge of the Abyss Sea. Dark-purple mist drifted beneath her feet, swirling around her like living creatures that could breathe.

As an Epic Lord of the Abyssal World, she was not particularly large. Compared to the other overwhelming beings that blotted out the sky, she was more like an elongated shadow—silent, indifferent, and soundless.

She looked toward the Great Wall Defense Line. For the first time, confusion appeared in her faintly green eyes.

Just then, Abyssal power churned violently, and a colossal dragon leaped into the air behind her. Its savage wings seemed capable of stirring the Abyss's red moon reflected upon Blue Star's horizon.

The aura radiating from its body was like black clouds pressing down overhead. Some low-tier Abyssal Creatures hiding in the cracks between rocks did not even have time to scream before the dragon's might shook them until blood streamed from their seven orifices, turning them into inconspicuous corpses among the countless dead in the Abyss Sea.

Yet the dragon did not care in the slightest. Its draconic eyes were frigid, and those dead low-tier creatures were not even worth a weed from the Abyss in its eyes.

But it was precisely this brutal and arrogant draconic nature that made countless Abyssal Lords wish to prostrate themselves beneath its might, begging only to become its loyal servants.

Because it was one of the Abyss's powerful Epics, the Shadow-and-Calamity Dragon—Hatis.

Merial raised her eyes toward Hatis as he soared through the air. She had a high nose bridge, slightly prominent brow bones, and extremely pale lips. Though she was not human, she possessed the beauty of an extraordinary creature.

Whenever her gaze shifted, the light seemed to dim.
