"Um?"
Fred, puzzled, dialed the number again.
"Beep~"
The phone was hung up as soon as it rang.
Fred was a little confused.
"Strange? Why isn't Aunt Lenora answering the phone?"
He tried to make the call for the third time when a sharp, piercing voice suddenly rang out above him.
"Stop fucking hitting me, you brainless idiot!"
Fred's face darkened, and he angrily looked up to see who dared to insult him.
But as soon as he raised his head, he suddenly felt everything go black, as if something had covered his eyes.
Immediately afterwards, he felt a sharp pain in his hair and couldn't help but cry out in pain.
"Ah! My hair!"
'Fluttering~'
The sound of flapping wings rang out, and Fred's eyes lit up as his sight returned.
He rubbed his forehead, staring in astonishment at the strange creature hovering in front of him...
It was a Red-tailed Ghost Parrot!
"What the hell are you?!"
Fred quickly stepped back and gripped the pistol handle hidden behind his waist.
The Red-tailed Ghost Parrot flapped its wings, the sound barely audible.
'Pfft~ Pfft~'
Fred swore he wouldn't have been there if he hadn't been so close.
The Red-tailed Ghost Parrot spat out a wisp of hair from its sharp beak and shrieked, "What are you afraid of, you fool!"
Having said that, its figure suddenly flashed.
"!!!" Fred was startled and immediately drew his pistol.
But the next second, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his left shoulder, followed by a strong slap to his neck.
'ah!'
Fred couldn't help but scream.
The Red-tailed Ghost Parrot had its claws firmly gripping his left shoulder, its head tilted and its eyes fixed on Fred's face.
"Foolish boy, this is your punishment!"
" Your Master warned you not to make phone calls! You are not allowed to make phone calls!"
Fred finally understood: the ferocious Ghost parrot was actually his aunt's magical pet.
He angrily shouted, "Fuck! You bastard, how dare you hit me! I'm going to tell Aunt Lenora to skin you alive and break your bones!"
"Caw caw caw caw!" the Red-tailed Ghost Parrot shrieked with laughter.
"You stupid brat, you're really stupid!"
"You actually want to skin a Ghost?! How could Master have such a brainless nephew like you!"
"I...!" Fred couldn't help but curse himself under his breath for being an idiot.
He took a deep breath, holstered his pistol back in his waistband, and turned to ask, "Did your aunt send you?"
"Nonsense!" the Red-tailed Ghost Parrot scoffed. "Those two phone calls you made just now almost ruined Master's big plans!"
Fred was shocked and quickly retorted, "Don't exaggerate! I only made two phone calls, how could that ruin Aunt's important matter?!"
"Idiot!" the Red-tailed Ghost Parrot shrieked. " Your Master warned you that your phone calls would be tapped!"
"No phone calls allowed! No phone calls allowed!"
"Idiot! Idiot!"
It raised its wing and slapped Fred's neck hard again.
"Ouch!" Fred howled in pain, quickly raising his hands to beg for mercy.
"Stop! I was wrong! I was wrong!"
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have made that call!"
The Red-tailed Ghost Parrot then folded its wings in satisfaction and shrieked, "Speak, you fool, what important information do you have to report to your Master?"
"This..." Fred hesitated, "Shouldn't I be the one to report to my aunt myself?"
"Slap!" The Red-tailed Ghost Parrot flapped its wing at him again without hesitation.
"You idiot! If the Master had time, why would he send me here?!"
"Stop hitting me! I understand!" Fred pleaded again, enduring the pain.
The Red-tailed Ghost Parrot shrieked a warning. "Tell me the information, you idiot!"
Fred quickly recounted in detail how Kaecilius had behaved strangely that day.
Finally, he added, "I suspect that Kaecilius's body has been possessed by another powerful soul!"
The Red-tailed Ghost Parrot glanced at Fred, then suddenly raised its wings and flapped them again.
"I hate the sudden inspiration of idiots!"
"Ouch! Ouch! Stop hitting me!" Fred clutched his neck, which had been slapped, and dared not utter another sound.
After being reprimanded four times, he finally became completely obedient.
The Red-tailed Ghost Parrot squinted its eyes, as if it were thinking about something.
A moment later, it flapped its wings and asked in a shrill voice, "Foolish boy, did two new Sorcerer Apprentice arrive at Kamar-Taj today?"
"Huh?" Fred looked bewildered. "I don't know!"
The Red-tailed Ghost Parrot gave him a disapproving sidelong glance.
"Useless! You don't even know this!"
"I..." Fred, terrified of being beaten, dared not refute.
" Sara, Lucas," the Red-tailed Ghost Parrot shrieked, "Remember those two names! Go back to Kamar-Taj, keep a close eye on these two, find out what they've been doing, and who they've been in close contact with!"
Fred nodded quickly. "Yes! I guarantee I'll complete the mission!"
The Red-tailed Ghost Parrot released its claws, flapped its wings, and flew off Fred's shoulder.
"Remember this, you idiot! Don't you dare make that call again!"
"And another thing, be smart! Focus on completing your Master's tasks, and stop spending all your time chasing after women!"
Having said that, it vanished in a flash.
Fred quickly pulled open his collar and looked at his left shoulder.
"Fuck!"
He looked at the several claw holes gushing blood and cursed in pain, "This damn bird actually scratched me!"
"One day I'll kill it with my own hands!"
I had just finished cursing when I heard...
"Smack!"
Suddenly, a wing appeared and lashed out hard across Fred's right neck.
Immediately, the Red-tailed Ghost Parrot let out a triumphant screech.
"You idiot, next time make sure I'm really gone before you start talking bad about me."
Fred immediately covered his head with his hands and squatted on the ground, pleading desperately, "Stop hitting me! I was wrong! I'll never do it again!"
"Pah!" The Red-tailed Ghost Parrot spat at him disdainfully.
With a 'fluttering' sound, it quickly flew away.
After a long while, Fred carefully stood up.
He carefully checked his surroundings and, after confirming that the Red-tailed Ghost Parrot had indeed left, he finally felt relieved.
"Hiss~~"
Fred rubbed his sore and numb neck, opened his mouth, but didn't dare to utter a curse.
He endured the stinging pain in his left shoulder and began to think seriously.
Aunt Lenora must have planted other agents in Kamar-Taj!
Why is she creating so many hidden plots?!
[And... fuck! No wonder she knew so much about my situation in Kamar-Taj!]
Fred's expression darkened, and he began to hesitate whether to run away now.
Aunt Lenora's ambitions must be quite grand!
I'm just an ordinary Sorcerer Apprentice. If I get caught up in such a dangerous conspiracy, I might not even know how I died...
But after much hesitation, Fred decided to return to Kamar-Taj.
"Even if I escape, Aunt Lenora will definitely find me. Then, I'm afraid I'll die an even more horrible death!"
Meanwhile, the Red-tailed Ghost Parrot flew high into the sky and then traversed space to arrive deep in the Africa desert.
It flapped its wings and flew to an oasis, plunging headfirst into the oasis's lake.
After a dizzying spin, the Red-tailed Ghost Parrot arrived at a scenic valley.
It flapped its wings and flew into the Lake Center Island in the valley, landing in front of the Wooden Cabin in the middle of the flower field on the Lake Center Island.
The Red-tailed Ghost Parrot walked up to the door of the Wooden Cabin and knocked on it with its sharp beak.
'Knock knock knock~'
" Master, I'm back."
A moment later, a languid, mature woman's voice came from inside the Wooden Cabin.
"Come in, Richard ~~"
