"Thank you, doctor!"

Lucy clutched her abdomen and rolled off the operating table.

The sharp pain from her abdominal surgical incision turning her complexion faintly pale.

The chief surgeon felt a flash of compassion stir in his heart upon seeing this.

He reached out to support Lucy's arm and instructed, "You'd better rest for a few days to let the sutured wound heal fully."

Lucy curled the corners of her mouth, shook her head, and said, "Thank you for your concern, doctor."

"But I don't have much time left..."

The chief surgeon opened his mouth, yet could not utter any comforting words.

Lucy nodded at him in a friendly manner, reached out to pick up the half-bag of CPH4 from the instrument tray, and walked out haltingly while clutching her abdomen.

The chief surgeon and the assistant watched her leave just like that.

"Paul, go call the police."

"Huh?" The assistant looked at his boss in utter bewilderment.

The chief surgeon raised a hand and slapped him on the back of the head, saying irritably, "I told you to call the police, you punk!"

The assistant clutched the back of his head and said with a wronged expression, "Whoa, no way, boss! Just a moment ago, you even put on the persona of a good Samaritan and sent her off."

"And the moment you turn around, you tell me to call the police?!"

"Nonsense!" The chief surgeon pointed at the patient lying on the floor who had suffered a tragic headshot. "If you don't call the police, you going to dispose of this body?!"
