Naruto had just been about to enter the Allied Forces headquarters when he saw Jiraiya, now wearing a shinobi headband, along with Konan.
Jiraiya looked displeased and worried. "Naruto, you bastard, you finally came back. Do you know? When Konan, the old man, and I rushed over to meet up with everyone, we found out everything was already over. So much happened in such a short time."
"Yeah. Hanabi and I were incredibly lucky to make it back. Sorry for making everyone worry." Naruto let out a long sigh. If not for Uchiha Hikari, he truly wouldn't have known what to do.
"Senior Sister Konan, when we saw Obito, one of his eyes had turned into a Rinnegan..." Naruto trailed off.
Konan gently shook her head. "Yes, Obito has already taken the Rinnegan. I'm fine, so don't worry. I've joined the Allied Shinobi Forces now, and Nagato has as well."
"Senior Sister Konan." Naruto's expression softened. The two understood without speaking and exchanged a smile.
Jiraiya was full of question marks. What were his two students smiling about? Had they secretly done something major behind his back?
"Naruto, you're back. Did you send that lost princess home?" A voice drew Naruto, Konan, and Jiraiya's attention.
Hanabi Hyuga was wearing an Allied Forces headband bearing the character for shinobi and an orange kimono, with a red armband on her shoulder marked with the words "Captain."
"Hanabi, uh... what is this?" Naruto was initially shocked that Hanabi Hyuga had gone to the battlefield as a Genin—and had even become a captain as a Genin.
Hanabi Hyuga proudly raised her arm and let Naruto get a good look at her armband.
"Well? I'm amazing, aren't I, Naruto? I'm a captain in the Allied Shinobi Forces Logistics Department now."
