Haku and Kazahana Koyuki were inside discussing business—namely, investing in the Land of Snow. Zabuza, or rather Zabuza, came out with Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke, and Kakashi. It was better not to listen in on another country's internal affairs!
Naruto asked in disbelief, "Bandage Uncle, have you and Sister Haku settled down in the Land of Demons?"
Leaning against the railing, Zabuza replied, "Yeah. After I recovered from my injuries, Haku and I left the Land of Waves and took all of Gato's money with us!"
"We no longer wanted to get involved in the affairs of the Shinobi World. I heard that Kirigakure's newly appointed Fifth Mizukage ended the Blood Mist Policy from the Third and Fourth Mizukage's eras. My ambitions no longer meant anything!"
Naruto knew of Mei Terumi, the Fifth Mizukage, from Awen's memories. She possessed two Kekkei Genkai, was powerful, capable, and strategic, and she was beautiful too. Though they were both Kage, Mei Terumi, the Fifth Mizukage, was in some ways even more formidable than Granny Tsunade—at least, that was what Naruto thought!
Zabuza asked, "Enough about us. Kakashi, it has been over a year since we last met!"
"Yeah. It really has been a year since the Land of Waves incident." Kakashi sighed with feeling. They had fought each other to the death in the Land of Waves, yet now that there was no conflict between them, they chatted like old friends.
Naruto looked out at the scenery ahead. Birds were already flying through the sky. It was hard to imagine that this place had once been a frozen wasteland, cold enough to freeze piss into an icicle.
"Why haven't Sister Haku and the princess finished talking yet? When I become Hokage, am I going to have to haggle like this too?" Naruto muttered.
"Hmph!"
