Masayo was drawing a map when a small cluster of murmuring voices rose behind him. They were quiet, but unmistakably real.
Without turning around, Masayo said, "All right, Shikamaru, sit down. Saki, continue reading."
The murmuring stopped abruptly. The extra named Saki stood up, his eyes frantically searching the textbook. He had been too busy talking to notice where Shikamaru Nara had stopped reading.
Saki looked around at his classmates with pleading eyes. After noticing Kiba Inuzuka's hint, he breathed a sigh of relief and hurriedly began reading.
After Saki had read two paragraphs, Masayo stopped him.
"All right, Saki, sit down. Kiba Inuzuka, continue reading. Read until the end."
Kiba Inuzuka's expression changed. He shot Saki, who was begging forgiveness, an annoyed glare before continuing.
Naruto and Choji Akimichi looked delighted by their misfortune. The text that should have been read by them had been taken over by Kiba Inuzuka and Saki, and they nearly laughed out loud. Who told Saki to chatter?
This time, no one dared to speak again. The sight of Saki and Kiba Inuzuka had scared them out of zoning out and talking.
By the time Kiba Inuzuka finished reading the textbook, Masayo had also finished drawing his Ninja World map.
"All right, sit down!"
After telling Kiba Inuzuka to sit, Masayo looked at the students sitting bolt upright and staring at him with wide eyes. "You have fifteen minutes. Finish the test papers, quickly."
"What?"
"Teacher Masayo, can we copy from the book?"
Whoosh!
Masayo vanished from before their eyes in an instant, and his voice came from the back of the classroom.
"I didn't hear anything! Fifteen minutes. Write faster. Once you finish, hand your papers to Sakura."
The chairs at the back of the classroom were for teachers or school officials observing lessons. Masayo sat in one of them, removing his Light-Concealing Sword.
"So fast... I didn't see him at all. When did he get over there?"
A storm surged in Sasuke Uchiha's heart. He had not seen when Masayo reached the back of the classroom at all. Their strength was on completely different levels.
Unlike Sasuke, the other students began frantically copying from their books. Iruka had made this test himself, and every question came from the textbook. Other than wasting time, it was completely pointless.
"Sasuke, why aren't you writing yet? Why are you looking at me? Don't tell me you really want Teacher Iruka to test you after he comes back."
Masayo did not even raise his head. He kept fiddling with the scabbard, its snow-white surface inlaid with a blue snowflake emblem, making it look like a work of art.
Sasuke hurriedly turned away and joined the others. In around ten minutes, nearly everyone had finished their test papers.
"Um, Teacher Masayo, that weapon of yours..."
Ino Yamanaka turned around, her face full of curiosity as she asked.
"What is it?"
Masayo raised his head and asked curiously. Ino Yamanaka was two years younger than him, dressed brightly and stylishly, with a pretty face and an open, generous personality. Very nice.
"It just looks so beautiful!"
Masayo smiled and nodded. He drew the Light-Concealing Sword, and the sound of the blade leaving its sheath rang out, yet Ino and the others could not see the sword itself.
"The Light-Concealing Sword. It cannot be seen when looked at. Koyuki gave it to me."
Under the shining light, the transparent blade of the Light-Concealing Sword appeared before everyone's eyes.
"That's amazing! It looks so cool! Did that Princess of the Wind and Clouds give it to you, Teacher Masayo?"
Naruto had also finished writing. His eyes gleamed as he stared at the transparent Light-Concealing Sword. It was unbelievably cool and beautiful, like a work of art.
"Teacher Masayo, Teacher Masayo, I heard you and the Princess of the Wind and Clouds have kissed. What did it feel like? Did you use your tongues?"
The classroom instantly erupted at Ino's question. Little heads popped up one after another, and even Sasuke secretly looked over from afar.
"What kind of question is that?!"
Masayo rolled his eyes at Ino speechlessly and sheathed the Light-Concealing Sword. Even Sasuke was like this. He really was still a child at heart; it was simply hidden beneath his revenge.
"Tell us, Teacher Masayo!"
"Yeah, tell us, Teacher Masayo!"
"Was it a wet kiss or a dry kiss?"
"Stop it, all of you! Quiet!"
Seeing things grow increasingly chaotic, Masayo shouted. The students showed no sign of stopping, and their questions were becoming more outrageous, so he hurriedly put a stop to them.
"Hinata, is there anything you want to ask me?"
After spotting Hinata Hyuga, Masayo asked, tossing the ball to her. Gentle, adorable, the number one hard worker in the Naruto world—if not for the Byakugan affecting her appearance, Masayo might really have ended up like those other transmigrators.
"Um..."
Hinata poked her fingers together, looking shy and timid. With everyone watching her, she bashfully looked at the others.
"N-Naruto... he's looking at me, I..."
"Sigh, all right, all right, it's fine. Hinata, class is starting now. Sakura, after class, put the test papers on Teacher Iruka's desk."
Seeing that Hinata Hyuga looked as if she was about to faint, Masayo hurriedly spoke. Fortunately, no one asked him any more strange questions. Children in the Naruto world really did mature early!
Whoosh!
Masayo flashed back to the podium, the Light-Concealing Sword resting behind his back, his demeanor natural and calm.
"All right, everyone, class begins now!"
After smoothly finishing the lesson, Masayo bid farewell to the protagonist class.
It was the weekend. Masayo sat in the courtyard, holding the scroll of the Spirit Transformation Jutsu and studying it. His other three Shadow Clones were researching Yin–Yang Release, practicing with the Light-Concealing Sword, and developing Earth Attribute chakra.
"With Shadow Clones as a training cheat, cultivation goes so much faster, haha..."
Masayo had been able to create three Shadow Clones to train alongside his main body for nearly two years now. His patience at the Ninja Academy, where he had kept laying foundations until graduation, had finally begun to pay off.
"Once I develop the Earth Attribute, I'll have four chakra attributes: wind, fire, water, and earth."
Masayo clenched his fist excitedly. Naruto and the others would soon graduate. That would be where the dream began.
Ding-dong!
Suddenly, the doorbell rang, startling Masayo. Looking through the iron gate, he saw Sasuke Uchiha standing there with a conflicted, struggling expression. His fists were clenched. After thinking for a long time, Sasuke had finally made up his mind to come find Masayo.
"Sasuke! Why are you here?"
Masayo opened the door and led Sasuke inside. This was truly beyond his expectations; he had never thought Sasuke would come looking for him.
After dismissing his Shadow Clones, Masayo made Sasuke a cup of tea and asked why he had come.
Sasuke held the warm teacup in both hands, his burning gaze fixed on Masayo. Clearly, he had made up his mind.
"Teacher Masayo, I want to ask you to guide my training!"
Sasuke lowered his head toward Masayo. His handsome face still carried a hint of childishness, while his eyes were filled with fury.
Just as I thought!
Masayo could not help thinking to himself. Sasuke had seen his strength through that movie and knew there was an enormous gap between them.
Masayo did not agree immediately. Looking at Sasuke, he said seriously, "I know about what happened to the Uchiha clan. A life for a life, debts must be repaid—those are only natural. But I can't give you an answer right away. Let me think it over. I'll give you an answer tonight. Go back first."
