Background / History

Dai Mubai is a direct descendant of the Star Luo Empire’s imperial family. He claims to have concealed his identity and traveled to the Balak Kingdom because of internal family trials and competition for the throne. 4

He fled the Star Luo Empire while leaving behind his betrothed, Zhu Zhuqing. By the time she reaches Shrek Academy, he has spent his time in Suotuo City indulging in pleasure, causing Zhu Zhuqing to regard him with contempt. 8

Personality

Dai Mubai is proud, status-conscious, and highly protective of his public image. He initially behaves arrogantly toward Tang San, but acknowledges Tang San’s ability after their hotel fight ends without a clear victor. 3

He is deeply jealous of Ning Ze, particularly after Ning Rongrong dismisses his imperial lineage and openly displays affection for Ning Ze. His resentment drives him to help arrange Ning Ze’s supposedly legitimate combat assessment at Shrek. 4 6

After suffering repeated defeats, Dai often conceals his humiliation behind politeness or seniority. He presents himself as a responsible upperclassman, but manipulates situations to regain status or turn others against Ning Ze. 8 9 13

Rose Hotel Encounter

Dai Mubai fights Tang San over the final Red Ocean Suite at the Rose Hotel. Though physically powerful, he cannot decisively defeat Tang San’s refined techniques; he acknowledges Tang San’s strength and gives him the suite. 3

Later, he attempts to impress Ning Rongrong with his imperial background, but she ignores him while publicly feeding Ning Ze grapes. 4

Shrek Academy Admission

As a Shrek senior, Dai intimidates applicants demanding refunds and guides Ning Ze’s group through the academy’s admissions process. 6 9

Jealous of Ning Ze and interested in Ning Rongrong’s sect status, he helps initiate a combat test against Ning Ze. He is defeated after Ning Ze neutralizes all of his attacks and nearly lands a decisive blow before Li Yusong intervenes. 6 7

Reunion with Zhu Zhuqing

Dai recognizes Zhu Zhuqing when she arrives at Shrek and reacts with excitement, but she refuses even to acknowledge him. Her attention instead turns toward Ning Ze, intensifying Dai’s humiliation and jealousy. 8

He later attempts to persuade Zhu Zhuqing to remain at Shrek by invoking their engagement, Martial Soul Fusion Skill, and shared future. Zhu Zhuqing rejects him and chooses to determine her own path. 17 18

Conflict with Ning Ze

Dai joins Tang San, Ma Hongjun, and Oscar in a four-on-one battle against Ning Ze. Despite numerical support, he is quickly defeated after Ning Ze breaks his White Tiger Body Barrier and sends him flying. 15 16

After Ning Ze’s group decides to leave Shrek, Dai remains aligned with Flender and unsuccessfully pressures Zhu Zhuqing to stay. 17 18

Trivia

• Dai’s attempt to court Ning Rongrong is undermined by the fact that her Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect background far exceeds the value she places on his Star Luo imperial lineage. 4
