Before establishing Hundred Herb Hall, Xiao Yi Xian worked for Boss Yao of the Myriad Medicine Store. Xiao Yan met her during training in the Beast Mountain Range. When armed attackers surrounded them one night, he used the Eight Gates to defeat them; Mu She’s son, Mu Li, disappeared during this earlier period. Boss Yao subsequently cooperated with Mu She in pressuring Xiao Yi Xian 29.

Xiao Yan helped her through what she regarded as the lowest point of her life, giving her stability after years of drifting. Hundred Herb Hall became their jointly owned clinic. Within two years of opening, it surpassed the long-established Myriad Medicine Store. Her free consultations, prescriptions, and occasional gifts of medicinal herbs earned her a strong reputation; more than half of Qingshan Town’s mercenaries had received her treatment 28.

During their earlier acquaintance, Xiao Yan discovered dormant poison within her and barely suppressed it with an Evil-Sealing Talisman, supported by the Eight Gates and a Dou Qi-filled artifact. Xiao Yan returned urgently to Qingshan Town after learning the dangers of her constitution. The following day, she guided him toward a cliffside cave discovered while gathering herbs. Something inside had stirred her constitution. Initially afraid that awakening her physique would destroy her identity as a healer, Xiao Yi Xian accepted Xiao Yan’s argument that medicine and poison could serve the same purpose. Her control improved, and she personally killed Mu She’s pursuing group with poison. She also resolved to become strong enough to advance beside Xiao Yan rather than be left behind 31.

Flame Alliance

Xiao Yi Xian later accompanied Xiao Yan’s conspicuous return to Wutan City aboard the Amethyst Winged Lion King. By the Jia Nan Academy admissions period, she was the Flame Alliance’s medical hall master. She attended the assessment as a spectator, choosing not to enroll because she expected the alliance to expand wherever Xiao Yan traveled 58 59.

She remained at the Flame Alliance headquarters with the Lion King when Xiao Yan departed for the desert. Xiao Yan subsequently considered taking her to the Chu Yun Empire for training and searching its toxic regions for the Netherworld Poison Flame; this remained a future plan in the supplied chapters 60 61.

Xiao Yi Xian is compassionate and strongly identifies with healing. She treats poor patients without charge and sometimes supplies herbs at her own expense. This commitment makes the Woeful Poison Body especially distressing: she fears harming patients, becoming feared and despised, or surrendering herself to power 28 31.

Her gentleness does not exclude jealousy or mischief. With Xiao Yan, she teases, interrogates, pinches, and threatens poison when provoked by his romantic entanglements. Behind these reactions is a desire to remain beside the person who gave her security. She ultimately rejects passive resignation, seeking both control of her constitution and the strength to keep pace with him 28 31 58 59.

She initially opposed completely eliminating the Wolf Head Mercenary Group. Xiao Yan’s warning about allowing dangerous people to cause future harm challenges that reluctance. She later accepts lethal action against Mu She without abandoning her ambition to heal 29 31.
