Early the next morning, every major news website, television station, and newspaper in New York was reporting on the battle outside Stark Tower the night before!
ABC even aired shaky footage secretly filmed by a bystander.
The unsteady footage showed Tony in his red-and-gold Mecha fighting Obadiah in the Iron Monger atop Stark Tower.
A huge explosion and flames lit up the surrounding blocks.
"What were those things fighting outside Stark Tower yesterday? Was Stark Industries testing another new weapon?"
"Wasn't the person in the red-and-gold Mecha Iron Man, the one who was in the news a while back?"
"I heard a lot of people were hurt yesterday. Stark Industries owes them an explanation!"
New Yorkers debated the incident heatedly, and more and more people demanded an explanation from Stark Industries.
At S.H.I.E.L.D.'s request, official media outlets claimed it had been an accident during a Stark Industries experiment.
But the public clearly wasn't buying such a flimsy excuse.
With no other choice, Stark Industries announced a press conference where Tony would explain the situation himself.
Three days later, the press conference began.
All the major television stations and newspapers in New York sent reporters.
Rhodey came as the Military's representative, while Coulson represented S.H.I.E.L.D.
"Tony, remember to stick to the script."
Pepper straightened Tony's tie backstage as she reminded him again and again.
After all, the Mecha could be classified as a powerful weapon, and it hadn't been registered with the Federation.
If Tony was found to have used it illegally in public, it would cause serious trouble for both him and the company.

Tony nodded and headed toward the press conference.
Rhodey took the stage first and addressed the reporters. "Everyone, please welcome Mr. Tony Stark to explain what happened outside Stark Tower a few days ago!"
