Did they need Ling Weiyang to return?
Su Che did not quite understand. The Azure Emperor had once towered above all ages, personally buried the Wilderness Demon Gods, and perished along with the Ancient Heavenly Court. Could he truly return?
"Heaven and earth are an inn for all things. Time is a traveler passing through a hundred generations. Life is but a dream—how much joy can it hold?"
Kongkong'er recited the old saying.
"The Five Directions and Five Emperors of the Ancient Era stood at the very pinnacle of cultivation in this world. Their understanding and mastery of the Nine Heavenly Human Arts far surpassed anything you or I can imagine. Even so, they failed in the end."
Kongkong'er looked at Su Che. "Do you think it's possible that the Nine Heavenly Human Arts have limits of their own? That even with all nine arts perfected and brought into harmony, some things remain beyond their power?"
Could supernatural powers reach their limit?
To Su Che, supernatural powers were a force that made the impossible possible. They rested on a cultivator's command of the laws governing heaven and earth, while the force that brought about change came from the cultivator himself.
That power was real.
But did it have a limit?
Su Che did not know.
"Cultivators often debated questions like this in the Ancient Era. You rarely hear such debates now. If I hadn't entered several tombs of ancient cultivators in my younger days, I probably wouldn't have thought of it either."
Kongkong'er seemed to be talking about something wholly unrelated to the Primordial Azure Emperor.
"The cultivators of the Ancient Era were different from us. They believed human strength could be exhausted. Supernatural powers, too, had an end—things they could never touch."
"Such as reversing time."
Reversing time?
