This Star Raft was somewhat different in design from the ones Su Che had seen before. Its round, plump shape was rather adorable, and its surface was painted with enormous characters in gold dust. Rings of golden light flowed around it, driving it onward.
Its speed was much slower, however.
Its unique shape and entirely different operating principles all proclaimed to him that this place lay an immense distance from his original world.
He wondered whether, if he continued roaming through this universe, he might find the azure planet where he had been born.
As Su Che pondered this, another change occurred aboard that round, rolling Star Raft.
A brawny figure stepped onto the prow.
Its head was that of a lion, and it stood over ten feet tall. Its skin was dark, claws grew from all four arms, and its attire was simple: loose trousers tightened at the cuffs below, while its bare upper body exposed knotted muscles.
What a mighty Rakshasa Ghost.
Su Che recognized the origin of this one's bloodline. It likely had some connection to the Western Heaven Buddha Realm of his own world. That place had the Eightfold Ghost Gods, each belonging to the Six Paths, and this lion-like monster seemed to be one of the Rakshasa.
Such beings resembled Yakshas. They were ghost gods of the Hungry Ghost Path among the Six Paths, born with supernatural power.
Yakshas were swift by nature and loved to devour vital essence. Rakshasas, meanwhile, were combative by nature and especially fond of bloody flesh.
Both were varieties of hungry ghosts endowed with supernatural abilities and could not be regarded as ordinary hungry ghosts.
Could this be within the sphere of influence of some Buddhist School?
