When Devil Lord Sackcloth led the Northern Pole Three Heavens down from the Void, no one knew what he was feeling.
Yet Su Che had already completed an initial sorting-out of the Longevity Sect. He led the surviving disciples into formation and received them at the highest point of the peak.
"Yang Sui leads the disciples of this sect in welcoming the Patriarch."
Su Che's single sentence brought a flicker of grief and dejection across Devil Lord Sackcloth's face.
But he was an old devil of many years, and his expression swiftly turned hearty again.
A funeral was to be conducted like a celebration—great fortune and great prosperity.
"Yang Sui, you have rendered great merit to this sect. Today, I shall formally admit you into our ranks and make you the foremost among all my disciples."
Devil Lord Sackcloth laughed generously.
The many Longevity Sect disciples below joined in.
"Congratulations, Patriarch! Congratulations, Chief Yang!"
The warmth and fervor in their praises made it seem as though the Longevity Sect had never fallen apart at all.
Looking at the desolate ruin around him, Su Che found it deeply ironic.
"Disciples, heed my command."
Devil Lord Sackcloth looked down at the many disciples and adherents of the Longevity Sect.
"Since Patriarch Azure Youth Junior Lord founded this sect, it has been passed down generation after generation, sage following sage, its branches lush and leaves flourishing. It further received the favor of Dharma-Ending Demon Master, and in the Southern Wastes, we drove a firewood cart in ragged clothes to open up the mountains and forests. Patriarchs through the ages labored bitterly to establish this foundation. Yet that hateful traitor, Venerable Skysoar, colluded with outside enemies and slaughtered his fellow disciples. Even I nearly fell victim to his poisonous hand. Fortunately, the Northern Pole
