Fallen God

The blazing fire beast kept tearing into everything around it. Scorching waves of heat rolled through the streets, charring all they touched. Vehicles became cages, and wails rose everywhere.

Agony. Burning. Tearing.

Li Huowang did not know why he was still conscious. Nor did he know why, in this fleeting instant, he felt the heightened sensitivity his body in another world had gained only after using Blister Beetle Ascent. Pain dozens of times greater than normal raced from every neuron to his brain.

Even his body's protective instincts could not make him pass out.

Flames burst from his throat. His eyes were long gone, and his burning body had fused to the seat.

Li Huowang could still sense his surroundings. He felt the vehicle behind him flip under the force of the enormous shock wave.
