  • A man named Brother Rice Noodles and a Peony Flower Demon arrive. They have apparently eloped after the woman deliberately abandoned the Bull Demon King to provoke him and test whether he truly loved her.
  • The Bull Demon King appears in a rage. Despite being outnumbered, he easily defeats the Heavenly soldiers and seriously injures Erlang God, revealing his superior cultivation as a late-stage Daluo Golden Immortal.
  • Jiang Ming intervenes, rescuing Erlang God and stopping the Bull Demon King’s attack by catching his fist effortlessly.
  • The Bull Demon King attacks Jiang Ming with Primordial Geng Metal Light, but Jiang Ming evades it and pins him into the ground with a single palm strike.
  • Jiang Ming exposes the Peony Flower Demon’s continued love for the Bull Demon King. When she attempts suicide to prove her devotion, Jiang Ming binds both lovers with Five-Colored Divine Light.
  • Rather than simply defeating or killing them, Jiang Ming decides to counsel them and teach them what love truly means.

Character Developments

  • Jiang Ming demonstrates overwhelming strength, easily surpassing both Erlang God and the Bull Demon King. He also shows restraint and compassion by saving Erlang God and trying to resolve the lovers’ conflict peacefully.
  • Erlang God is revealed to be powerful but still inferior to the Bull Demon King. His confidence in the heavenly formation gives way to panic and helplessness before Jiang Ming rescues him.
  • Bull Demon King is portrayed as immensely powerful, fiercely emotional, and deeply wounded by what he believes is his wife’s betrayal. His rage prevents him from recognizing her true feelings.
  • Peony Flower Demon is impulsive and emotionally extreme. She abandons the Bull Demon King only to provoke him, then attempts suicide once she believes she has proven his love.
  • Princess Iron Fan and Old Seven remain observers, reacting with excitement and anxiety while admiring powerful figures in the Heavenly Court.

Significant Themes

  • Jealousy and emotional manipulation: The woman’s elopement is deliberately staged to provoke the Bull Demon King, demonstrating how attempts to test love can cause genuine harm.
  • Strength versus wisdom: Physical power cannot solve the couple’s emotional conflict. Jiang Ming uses force only to stop violence, then turns to reason and persuasion.
  • Compassion over punishment: Jiang Ming treats the Bull Demon King as someone worthy of understanding rather than merely an enemy to destroy.
  • Heavenly hierarchy and relationships: The chapter humorously portrays the complicated ties between demons, immortals, and members of the Heavenly Court.

  • Jiang Ming interprets the Peony Flower Demon’s desperate actions as proof that she still loves the Bull Demon King, then prepares to mediate their relationship.

Ch. 762Marshal Tianpeng

Jiang Ming helped Bull Demon King reconcile with Peony Flower Demon, then spent centuries cultivating and settling regrets before leaving the Primordial Wilderness Parallel Universe. An unyielding obsession pulled him into another world, where he remembered that he was Yang Tianyou and learned of his family’s tragic fate.

  • Jiang Ming sent for Son Goku, who fought Bull Demon King for three days and three nights before Bull Demon King accepted defeat and became his sixth brother.
  • The Jade Emperor appointed Bull Demon King an immortal official and granted him a residence as Great Sage Pingtian.
  • Over the next fifty years, Jiang Ming reached the Daluo Golden Immortal realm and married Princess Iron Fan.
  • At Hunter King City, Jiang Ming took Brocade-Furred Mouse with him and kept her for a hundred years, then later defeated a mighty Quasi-Saint during the pilgrimage for the scriptures before a seven-colored radiance and Taiji Diagram intervened.
  • Jiang Ming broke free of the Primordial Wilderness Parallel Universe, but a neighboring universe pulled him in, where he remembered that he was Yang Tianyou and that the Heavenly Court had executed him and his eldest son, Yang Jiao.

Ch. 763The Goddess Yao Ji

Jiang Ming entered the role of Wang Tianyou and watched Yao Ji battle the escaped Three-Headed Divine Flood Dragon, hoping to meet her and obtain a cultivation method suited to this world. After Jiang Ming interrupted the dragon’s sneak attack, it injured Yao Ji and fled.

  • Jiang Ming became Wang Tianyou and resolved to meet Yao Ji so he could learn this world's cultivation methods and regain his strength.
  • The Three-Headed Divine Flood Dragon escaped the Desire Realm after swallowing the Palace-Suppressing Dragon Pearl, and Yao Ji and Marshal Tianpeng pursued it.
  • Yao Ji defeated the dragon with the Zixiao Divine Sword and demanded that it return the Dragon Pearl and come back with her.
  • The Three-Headed Divine Flood Dragon pretended to surrender, but Jiang Ming struck it with a stone to stop its attack on Yao Ji.
  • The dragon struck Yao Ji in the back, crushed her heart, and fled.

Ch. 764Three-Headed Divine Flood Dragon

Jiang Ming rescued Yao Ji, married her, and raised their three children while recovering his Daluo Golden Immortal cultivation. After uncovering hidden schemes behind the family’s coming calamity, he prepared to protect the children by guiding them toward powerful allies and training Yang Jiao himself.

  • Jiang Ming rescued Yao Ji from the Three-Headed Divine Flood Dragon, shared a heart with her, and helped her recover her powers before the dragon fled.
  • Jiang Ming chose the Four Symbols Heaven-Subduing Art, rapidly advanced to mid-stage earth immortal, and married Yao Ji after asking for a wife and children.
  • Jiang Ming and Yao Ji had Yang Jiao, Yang Jian, and Yang Chan, and Jiang Ming taught them cultivation as they grew.
  • Jiang Ming warned Yao Ji to conceal the children from the Heavenly Court, while she later left to hunt the Three-Headed Flood Dragon.
  • Jiang Ming recovered his Daluo Golden Immortal cultivation and discovered that hidden schemes connected the family’s calamity to the approaching Investiture of the Gods Calamity.
  • After three demons entered the city, Jiang Ming planned to send Yang Jiao to the Chan Sect and Yang Chan to Nuwa Palace while training Yang Jiao himself.

Ch. 765Heavenly Soldiers and Generals

Chapter Summary: “Heavenly Soldiers and Generals”

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Jiang Ming reflects on the extraordinary divine abilities inherited by his children:
    • Yang Chan possesses three sealed abilities involving space-time movement, illusory defense, and reality-altering words.
    • Yang Jian inherited four abilities, including the Insight Eye, Seventy-Two Transformations, the power to reverse Yin and Yang, and the Great Dao Primordial Spirit.
    • Yang Jiao inherited Five-Colored Divine Light and Inner Heaven and Earth, giving him immense potential despite having fewer abilities.
  • Three disguised demons—a tiger demon and two fox demons—enter the city. Jiang Ming recognizes them as signs that the situation has reached a dangerous stage.
  • In the Heavenly Court, the Jade Emperor learns that his sister Yao Ji married the mortal Yang Tianyou and had three children.
  • Enraged, the Jade Emperor orders Great Golden Crow to lead one hundred thousand heavenly soldiers and generals to capture Yao Ji, execute Yang Tianyou and the three children, and condemn them to eternal damnation.
  • Before the army arrives, Jiang Ming replaces the Yang family with incarnations made from strands of their hair and hides the real family inside his Inner Heaven and Earth.
  • Jiang Ming uses the illusion to let Yao Ji and the children witness the Heavenly Court’s cruelty firsthand, hoping the experience will motivate them to cultivate and become strong enough to survive future dangers.
  • Great Golden Crow arrives and declares that the family must be punished according to the Jade Emperor’s decree. Yao Ji pleads for mercy, but he rejects her appeal, claiming that Heavenly Law outweighs familial affection.
  • When Yao Ji resists, the heavenly forces attack the family. The incarnations of Yang Tianyou and Yang Jiao are killed.
  • Great Golden Crow attempts to kill Yang Jian and Yang Chan, but Marshal Tianpeng secretly intervenes, using a time-space technique to make the children appear dead while actually saving them.
  • The Jade Emperor transforms Yao Ji’s incarnation into Peach Mountain, sealing and suppressing her beneath it.
  • Jiang Ming concludes that the Jade Emperor is extremely powerful—at least a Quasi-Saint—and likely has a stronger figure supporting him. This reinforces Jiang Ming’s decision to rely on substitution and concealment rather than confront Heaven directly.

Character Developments

  • Jiang Ming demonstrates strategic foresight and deep concern for his family. Rather than risk a direct battle, he creates substitutes and turns the Heavenly Court’s attack into a lesson for his children.
  • Yao Ji is forced to confront the harshness of her brother and the powerlessness caused by her lack of strength. Witnessing the destruction of her family leaves her emotionally shaken.
  • Yang Jiao, Yang Jian, and Yang Chan are exposed to fear, loss, and betrayal through the incarnations’ deaths. Jiang Ming hopes this will end their complacency and inspire them to cultivate seriously.
  • Great Golden Crow is portrayed as rigid and merciless. Despite being raised by Yao Ji, he places Heavenly Law and the Jade Emperor’s authority above family loyalty.
  • Marshal Tianpeng reveals a hidden degree of compassion or guilt by secretly saving Yang Jian and Yang Chan, despite participating in the Heavenly Court’s operation.
  • The Jade Emperor appears not merely enraged but extraordinarily powerful and politically dangerous, capable of using the Heavenly Laws themselves to punish his enemies.

Significant Themes

  • Family versus law and authority: Great Golden Crow’s rejection of Yao Ji emphasizes the conflict between blood ties and absolute obedience to institutional law.
  • Powerlessness and the necessity of cultivation: The chapter stresses that good intentions and familial bonds cannot protect anyone without sufficient strength.
  • Deception as protection: Jiang Ming’s use of incarnations shows that survival sometimes requires strategy, substitution, and concealment rather than open confrontation.
  • The cruelty of political power: The Jade Emperor’s punishment is excessive and ruthless, revealing how heavenly authority can become oppressive when challenged.
  • Learning through suffering: Jiang Ming deliberately exposes his family to despair so that they understand the dangers of their world and develop the determination to grow stronger.
  • Hidden forces and greater threats: The suggestion that someone stands behind the Jade Emperor hints at a larger power struggle beyond the immediate conflict.

Character Interactions

  • Jiang Ming and his children: He warns them that the future will be dangerous and uses the staged tragedy to teach them the importance of cultivation.
  • Jiang Ming and Yao Ji: He reassures her that the plan will protect the family while allowing her to see the Jade Emperor’s true ruthlessness.
  • Yao Ji and Xiao Qi: Xiao Qi brings the warning from Heaven and explains that the Jade Emperor has discovered Yao Ji’s marriage and children.
  • Yao Ji and Great Golden Crow: Yao Ji appeals to their family relationship, but Great Golden Crow coldly refuses to show mercy.
  • Great Golden Crow and Marshal Tianpeng: Great Golden Crow enforces the decree without hesitation, while Tianpeng remains silent and later covertly saves the children.
  • The Jade Emperor and Yao Ji: The Jade Emperor treats his sister as a criminal, transforming her incarnation into Peach Mountain and demonstrating his complete rejection of familial sentiment.

  • Ruthlessness balanced by loyalty: Jiang Ming is harsh toward enemies and opportunistic in taking their treasures, but he repays Nezha’s kindness and refuses to abandon him.
  • Corruption of authority: The Jade Emperor and Queen Mother use their power unjustly, sacrificing innocents and shifting blame rather than accepting responsibility.
  • Brotherhood and chosen family: Nezha’s rescue of Yang Chan and Yang Jian develops into a bond of sworn brotherhood, suggesting that loyalty can arise independently of blood relations.
  • Suffering as cultivation: Yang Jian’s trials are framed not only as punishment but also as experiences that will deepen his understanding of people and strengthen him.

  • Enraged, Yang Jian kills nine of the ten Golden Crows. He spares only the youngest, Little Golden Crow, partly because the Golden Crows symbolize light and because he chooses to show mercy.
  • The emotional shock and fury cause Yang Jian to break through to the Taiyi Golden Immortal realm, surpassing his elder brother Yang Jiao for the first time.
  • Chang’e intervenes and helps prevent the slaughter from going further. Jiang Ming is surprised by her compassion and by the unusual setting in which both Di Jun’s and the Jade Emperor’s sons are Golden Crows.
  • In Heaven, Little Golden Crow confronts the Jade Emperor over the deaths of his brothers. The Jade Emperor coldly claims they died fulfilling their duty and shows little personal grief.

  • Yang Chan: Progresses to Middle Golden Immortal cultivation and gains the Lotus Lantern, establishing her as an increasingly formidable protector and participant in the family’s struggle.
  • Yang Jiao: Receives major treasures and supreme cultivation techniques while training in the Eastern Sea Dragon Palace. Although initially ahead of Yang Jian, he is surpassed after Yang Jian’s breakthrough.

Ch. 775Chun Shiniang

Chapter Summary:

Chun Shiniang

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Jiang Ming spends a century lying low, convinced that many events in the Heavenly Court have been manipulated by hidden forces. He concludes that the Saints will not personally intervene and decides not to let events proceed according to the original Lotus Lantern storyline.
  • During this period, the Western Teachings’ scripture-seeking plan continues without Jin Chanzi. Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing are still drawn into the scheme, and a Six-Eared Macaque is recruited to complete the group.
  • Having exhausted the opportunities available in that world and reached the Quasi-Saint realm, Jiang Ming prepares to leave. He takes Yao Ji, Yang Chan, and Chang’e with him but leaves Yang Jian behind.
  • His next destination is the world of Stephen Chow’s A Chinese Odyssey: Pandora’s Box. Jiang Ming arrives as the world’s version of Sun Wukong and recognizes that the main plot is beginning.
  • He must once again adapt to the local laws and rebuild his cultivation from the beginning. Nevertheless, his experience and understanding of cultivation allow him to progress rapidly:
    • First day: Earth Immortal
    • Second day: Heavenly Immortal
    • Third day: Perfected Heavenly Immortal
  • Jiang Ming is now the leader of a bandit group operating a “black inn,” with the future Zhu Bajie as the Second Boss and the future Sha Wujing as the bald Third Boss.
  • Chun Shiniang, the spider demon, arrives at the inn disguised as a traveling woman. The bandits recognize that she may be dangerous, but she confidently implies that she may be pretending to be prey while actually hunting them.
  • Jiang Ming appears after removing his mask. Chun Shiniang is immediately captivated by his appearance, presence, and cultivation. She decides at once that he should belong to her and even imagines having numerous children with him.

Character Developments

  • Jiang Ming: Becomes increasingly cautious and strategic after observing the manipulation surrounding the Heavenly Court. His Quasi-Saint breakthrough greatly enhances his fate, merit, fortune, charm, and destiny. Although he must restart cultivation in the new world, he quickly regains power. His main motivation for entering this world is to correct a lingering regret rather than pursue the scripture journey.
  • Chun Shiniang: Introduced as confident, intelligent, and dangerous. She recognizes the inn for what it is but enters anyway, suggesting that she is not an ordinary traveler. Despite her guarded nature, she falls instantly for Jiang Ming and becomes determined to possess him.
  • Zhu Bajie/Second Boss: Retains his crude, flirtatious, and joking personality. He eagerly prepares to exploit the female traveler but is also perceptive enough to suspect that she may be an officer or a dangerous figure.
  • Sha Wujing/Third Boss: Acts as the more literal and foolish counterpoint to the Second Boss, responding to the latter’s jokes with awkward explanations.

Significant Themes

  • Fate and regret: Jiang Ming’s return to this world is driven by his desire to remedy a past regret and complete his Dao heart.
  • Manipulation and hidden plots: He remains wary of larger forces orchestrating events, refusing to let established storylines proceed unchecked.
  • Power and adaptation: Despite entering a new world with cultivation reset, Jiang Ming’s accumulated experience allows him to advance almost instantly.
  • Desire and destiny: Jiang Ming’s enhanced Fate Pattern gives him overwhelming charm, while Chun Shiniang’s immediate attraction illustrates how fate and supernatural influence can shape relationships.
  • Subverting the original story: Jiang Ming intends to interfere with the scripture-journey plot and recruit demons such as Chun Shiniang rather than follow the expected narrative.

Character Interactions

  • The bandits jokingly debate whether Chun Shiniang is an official and mock one another while preparing to rob her.
  • Chun Shiniang verbally matches the Second Boss, calmly acknowledging the inn’s criminal nature and countering his threat with the idea of “playing the pig to eat the tiger.”
  • When Jiang Ming appears, the dynamic changes immediately: Chun Shiniang shifts from cool confidence to intense fascination, deciding that Jiang Ming is the man she wants.

Ch. 776Bai Jingjing Arrived

Guanshiyin confronted him over the delay, but he bought himself more time as he prepared for a final battle before leaving the world.

  • Jiang Ming separated Fairy Zixia and Fairy Qingxia by breaking the dao traces and curses binding them, then cultivated with them until he reached perfected Daluo Golden Immortal.

  • Jiang Ming sealed Guanshiyin inside Immortal Source and turned Tang Sanzang into a child before placing him in his Inner Heaven and Earth.
  • After more than a year, Jiang Ming shattered Tathagata Buddha’s Buddhaland in the Palm with Pangu Fist and pinned him beneath Nine-Palace Mountain.
  • Jiang Ming left the world with Sha Wujing, Zhu Bajie, Bull Demon King, and his companions, then followed a surge of karma to the Tomb of Gods World.
