Background / History
Fang Ming is a transmigrator who spent six years living in the Douluo Continent under the care of Cang Xuan, dean of Red Mountain Academy and his adoptive father. His maturity, composure, and familiarity with the world’s history set him apart from other children before his Martial Soul awakening. 1
During his awakening, Fang Ming entered a mysterious golden-fruit space and selected four complementary rewards: the Netherworld Poison Flame, Calamity Poison Body, Nine-Colored Poison Scripture, and a guardian. He awakened the Netherworld Poison Flame, joined the Spirit Pagoda, and learned from Cang Xuan that he has an older brother whose identity remains undisclosed. 2
His selected guardian manifested as Queen Medusa, a Peak Dou Emperor whose strength is compared to a Second-Level God. After her bloodline evolved into the Seven-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python, she entered a stabilizing slumber and became a small snake who usually rests around Fang Ming’s wrist as a bracelet. Fang Ming named her Cai Lin and later affectionately called her Little Cai. 2 3
At the Eastsea Spirit Pagoda, Fang Ming selected and forcibly subdued the rare Unyielding Soul Spirit Purple Radiance Venom Dragon. The fusion raised him to level fifteen and earned him the first Soul Skill, Netherworld Dragon Flame. His potential subsequently drew the attention of Sky Phoenix Douluo Leng Yaozhu, who accepted him as her disciple. 5 6 7
Fang Ming later rescued Na’er from three would-be kidnappers, killing the attackers before bringing her into Cang Xuan’s household. He cared for her for three years as an older brother until she departed to follow her own unknown destiny; Fang Ming promised to remember and find her regardless of where she went. 8 9 11
After Na’er’s departure, Fang Ming chose to enroll at Eastsea Academy. There he reunited with Tang Wulin, became Leng Yaozhu’s senior disciple to Gu Yue, and entered First-Year Class One alongside Xie Xie, Zhang Yangzi, and Wang Jinxi. 12 13 15 17
Appearance
By graduation from Red Mountain Academy, Fang Ming had grown tall and lean, with handsome, distinguished features and a sharp, heroic bearing. His appearance regularly draws attention alongside his abnormal cultivation level. 11 13
- Possesses a calm, steady temperament that makes him appear older than his age. 1 13
- His Netherworld Poison Flame manifests as green fire with a dark-green core, intense heat, and an icy, ghostly aura. 2 7
- The flame gained a faint purple tint after consuming poison released by his Calamity Poison Body. 10
Personality
Fang Ming is observant, decisive, and exceptionally composed under pressure. He rarely boasts about his cultivation, dismissing his level-thirty-eight strength as “just luck,” and he evaluates Soul Spirits and opponents according to strategic compatibility rather than appearances. 5 13
He is protective and attentive toward those he considers his own. He treats Little Cai as a cherished companion, cared for Na’er as family, and accepts responsibility for guiding Gu Yue after she becomes his junior sister. 3 9 15
His gentleness has a ruthless counterpart. Fang Ming killed Na’er’s abductors without hesitation, forced the Purple Radiance Venom Dragon into submission under threat of destruction, and responds directly when provoked in battle. 6 8 20
Fang Ming also has a bold, teasing side around Gu Yue. He responds to her provocations with casual intimacy, including publicly kissing her after their sparring match. 18 24

- Fang Ming can withdraw and neutralize his own poison after infecting a target. 15
Nine-Colored Poison Scripture
