Ch. 121Blazing Great Wall

Tang San bid farewell to his parents and charged the survivors with defending Douluo Continent until the Divine Realm returned. Before his soul vanished, he sealed the Abyss Passage into a one-way exit and created the Blazing Great Wall as the continent’s enduring final defense.

  • Tang San comforted Tang Hao and Ah Yin, then explained that the Divine Realm had been swept into Space-Time Turbulence and urged them to protect Douluo Continent.
  • Tang San warned everyone that the Abyssal Sage King and his forces far surpassed Douluo’s strength, but said the Sage King’s damaged origin would delay another invasion.
  • Tang San used his divine power to realign the Abyss Passage so it opened only toward Douluo Continent.
  • Tang San formed a thousand-li divine fortress across the Far North Ice Plains and named it the Blazing Great Wall, granting it the power to bless defenders and suppress the Abyss.
  • Tang San’s divine soul dissolved into the wall’s undying flames, leaving Tang Hao, Ah Yin, and the others to behold Douluo Continent’s new final defensive line.

Ch. 122The approaching heavenly tribulation

After the battle at the Blazing Great Wall, Tang Hao and Ah Yin left to recover while Chen Xuan and the others took responsibility for defending the continent. The Snow Empress revealed that her heavenly tribulation would arrive within ten years and explained why she planned to recultivate as a human despite the risks.

  • Tang Hao and Ah Yin entrusted the Blazing Great Wall's defense to Chen Xuan and the others, then departed to enter seclusion and recover.
  • After half a day of rest, Chen Xuan invited the Snow Empress and Ice Empress to recuperate at Shrek, but the Snow Empress refused to leave the Far North.
  • The Snow Empress said her heavenly tribulation would descend within ten years and planned to use half a hundred-thousand-year snow lotus to recultivate as a human, leaving the other half for the Ice Empress.
  • The Ice Empress and Di Tian warned the Snow Empress that human recultivation was dangerous, while Chen Xuan advised her to use the entire lotus to face her tribulation instead.
  • The Snow Empress revealed an irreversible wound to her essence caused by her failed attempt to condense dual soul cores, explaining that her damaged foundation made her situation more dangerous.

Ch. 123Taking the Path of Rebirth

The Snow Empress explained that her soul injury had left rebirth as a human her only path to survival. As the survivors prepared to defend the Blazing Great Wall, they waited for reinforcements, and Tai Tan arrived after several days of recovery.

  • The Snow Empress told the Ice Empress that her deep soul injury could not be healed and that rebirth as a human was her only way to survive.
  • Song Yunzhi, Kong Deming, and Jing Hongchen arrived, reporting that the upheaval after the battle had helped them break through to greater strength.
  • Chen Lan explained that the Blazing Great Wall nourished defenders and would suppress Abyss fiends, while Mu En and Chen Lan recalled how powerless they had been against the Abyssal Sage King.
  • Chen Xuan said the group would take over the Great Wall while Tang Hao and Ah Yin recovered, and insisted they had to defend the Far North with no path of retreat.
  • Jing Hongchen said Du Busi, Tai Tan, and the others would need five or six days to arrive, so the group rested and planned to settle the long-term defenses after they joined.
  • After several days of recuperation, Tai Tan arrived first.

Ch. 124The Blazing Great Wall Defense Army Takes Shape

Tai Tan and the other powers gathered at the Blazing Great Wall, where Du Busi arrived as a newly risen Level 99 Limit Douluo. Mu En then announced that the Firmament Tribunal would become the Blazing Great Wall Defense Army, and laid out its command structure and defenses.

  • Tai Tan arrived with the Clear Sky Sect's First Elder and Second Elder, admired the Blazing Great Wall, and learned from Tai Tan that Du Busi had become a Limit-level powerhouse.
  • Du Busi arrived with Jinpeng and Lou Xuwang, revealed his Level 99 strength, and greeted Chen Xuan.
  • Di Tian questioned why Xiong Jun had left the Star Dou Great Forest, and Xiong Jun explained that Bi Ji had insisted on coming.
  • Chen Xuan told the gathered powers to rest and recover for two days using the divine flames of the wall.
  • Mu En announced that the Firmament Tribunal would be renamed the Blazing Great Wall Defense Army and would relocate its headquarters to the wall.
  • Mu En established the Inner Six Seats and Outer Ten Seats, assigning the sixteen powers to defend the wall's sixteen passes and setting conditions for the Far North to join the Inner Seats.

Ch. 125Abolishing the Four Great Empires and Renaming Them the Douluo Federation

Mu En and Chen Xuan established the Blazing Great Wall Guard Army’s command, conscription, and defense rules, while Chen Xuan abolished the four empires and ordered the creation of the Douluo Federation. After the empires submitted and the federation formed, the Abyss began its first probe against the Great Wall.

  • Mu En set the defense framework, requiring two supreme defenders at central command and assigning all core-seat supreme experts there for the first ten years.
  • Mu En placed martial soul awakenings, registration, reserve coordination, and compulsory military service under the Guard Army, and defined its ranks and rotating Guardian Commanders.
  • Chen Xuan ordered the four empires’ armies under the Guard Army and abolished the empires, threatening those who resisted and establishing the Douluo Federation.
  • The Heaven Dou, Dou Ling, Star Luo, and Sun Moon Empires signed the abolition agreement, while several opposing noble houses were eliminated and the former rulers became federation councilors.
  • At the beginning of the second month, an Abyss Emperor led a small first wave of Abyss creatures out of the northern rift and toward the Blazing Great Wall.

Ch. 126The Blazing Great Wall's Terrifying Suppression

The Abyss’s demigod projections repeatedly tested the Blazing Great Wall, but its suppression and the defenders destroyed them, while the Blaze Emperor reported that breaching a city would require a coordinated force. The Holy Monarch rejected retreat and weighed the cost of grinding through the wall against the prize of devouring the Douluo Continent.

  • An Abyss Emperor was weakened by the wall’s divine fire and killed by a Soul Douluo Guardian as the Abyss intensified its probing attacks.
  • The Corrosion Emperor and Plague Emperor reported that their suppressed projections were destroyed by Mu En and Chen Xuan.
  • The Gu Emperor and Bone Emperor described how the wall weakened them before Du Busi and Di Tian destroyed their projections.
  • The Dust Emperor reported reaching the wall and wounding two Titled Douluo before Chen Xuan ground his projection to death.
  • The Blaze Emperor told the Holy Monarch that he could breach one city only at great cost and that at least seven comparable experts would be needed to open a breach.
  • The Holy Monarch dismissed the Blaze Emperor, rejected abandoning the Douluo Continent, and considered the rewards of devouring it.

Ch. 127Shattering Four Abyss Layers, the Holy Monarch Stakes Everything

The Holy Monarch sacrificed the Abyss’s first four layers to open five gates over the Far North and ordered a relentless war of attrition against the Blazing Great Wall. Chen Xuan gathered Douluo’s strongest defenders to reorganize the sixteen passes, but he refused the Snow Empress and Ice Empress’s offer to fight because their tribulation was approaching.

  • The Holy Monarch collapsed the Abyss’s first four layers, creating four new gates beside the original one and extending the invasion across the Far North.
  • The Holy Monarch ordered the Abyss Emperors to attack in rotation and sent the Blaze Emperor to disguise Titled-level emperors as ordinary soldiers for surprise attacks.
  • Chen Xuan recognized the Abyss’s plan to exhaust the defenders and summoned Mu En, Di Tian, Du Busi, and the others to a defense meeting.
  • Chen Lan offered to call the Sea Princess and Cangyuan Sea Dragon, while Di Tian said the Star Dou Great Forest could provide three top-tier fighters.
  • Chen Xuan counted thirteen top-tier defenders for the sixteen passes, and the Snow Empress offered to fight alongside the Ice Empress.
  • Chen Xuan rejected their offer, warning that their approaching Heavenly Tribulation made further battles too dangerous.
