His seven companions followed quietly on either side, their steps synchronized and silent, like guards who had undergone years of training.

A large Soul Guidance Car was already waiting by the roadside.

Its design was somewhat older than those on the Douluo Continent, and its paint had peeled away in several places, exposing the dull gray metal underneath.

But the interior was clean and tidy, with dark, coarse cloth cushions covering the seats.

Everyone climbed aboard. The doors closed with a dull thud, then the engine started. The vehicle shuddered slightly before driving down the dirt road leading away from the port.

Excitement stirred in Tang Wulin's heart, so he turned his gaze toward the window and watched the scenery outside.

After traveling along the dirt road for about twenty minutes, the two vehicles reached the main road. It was not particularly wide, and the areas on either side were clearly undeveloped, with irregular patches of vegetation giving them a desolate look.

Most of the trees were short and sparse, their branches twisted and their leaves a dusty, dark green-a stark contrast to the tall, lush forests of the Douluo Continent.

Occasionally, a few cultivated fields came into view.

But the soil between the ridges was cracked and dry, and the crops were sparse. The harvests clearly were not good.
