Background / History

Aisling is Gellert Grindelwald’s sister’s granddaughter, making Grindelwald her great-uncle. Although she does not use his surname and states that she has never met him, she is regarded as his last relative and the surviving branch of his family. Wolf and the remaining former supporters of Grindelwald’s Wizard Purist Party view her as an heir to his talents and legacy. 4 5 26

After Grindelwald’s defeat, Aisling’s supporters were hunted and repeatedly forced to relocate. They eventually accepted Dumbledore’s protection, with Aisling’s attendance at Hogwarts forming part of the arrangement.
