The next day, Susan arrived at the TV station as usual to begin her day's work.
The TV station was on the thirty-first floor, and Susan's desk sat beside the best floor-to-ceiling window.
Looking out, she could take in the scenery of more than half of New York.
Colleagues passing by Susan's desk all cast envious glances her way.
Susan now carried herself like the TV station's leading star. Even the current top anchor had to greet Susan first when she saw her.
After all, Susan knew Superman, New York's superhero.
But Susan remained clear-headed and did not become arrogant because of it. She always treated her colleagues with a smile and helped with any small favor she could.
She was even willing to share some gossip about Superman with them! She was practically everyone's treasure.
All kinds of little gifts piled up on Susan's desk, tokens of gratitude from those she had helped.
She turned on her computer and began the day's work.
The TV station also owned a newspaper, and Susan was writing an article for its front page.
She pulled up the photos she had taken yesterday. In them, Lin Feng's sunny smile was incredibly infectious.
So handsome! How could anyone have such a beautiful smile?
Unable to resist, Susan reached out and touched the computer screen, a lovestruck grin on her face. In Chinese, this was probably what they meant by beauty being in the eye of the beholder.
She quietly took out her phone and reread the text Lin Feng had sent last night.
"Tomorrow after work, I'll come pick you up!"
It was an utterly bland eight-character message, yet for some reason, Susan could not get enough of it...
Meanwhile, Lin Feng sat on the sofa at home, holding a book, his eyes gleaming.
As he read intently, he clicked his tongue in amazement from time to time, as though he had opened the door to a whole new world.
He kept muttering to himself as well.
"So you can do that!?"
"Damn..."
"I've learned something, I've really learned something..."
As Lin Feng flipped through the book, he eagerly looked forward to that night's date.
"Well? Those 100 Reputation Points weren't wasted, were they?" the Dog System's lazy voice rang out.
"It's alright..." The moment the Dog System appeared, Lin Feng instantly wiped the smile from his face and pretended to be reluctant. "It's nothing special. Ten Reputation Points would've been more like it!"
"You idiot, I hope your date fails!" The Dog System gave him the middle finger and fell silent.
"Tch, fail? That word doesn't exist in this handsome guy's dictionary." Lin Feng snorted disdainfully.
After carefully rehearsing the entire dating process in his head, Lin Feng felt completely confident about tonight's date.
First, he needed to book a restaurant! It had to be somewhat upscale, comfortable, and suitable for two people.
Then came the question: what did Susan like to eat?
Lin Feng's terrifying memory was pushed to its limits. Every moment he had spent with Susan appeared in his mind as clearly as photographs, one after another.
He sharply recalled a row of little fish charms on Susan's keychain, with at least three or four strung together.
Lin Feng had seen those charms before. They were gifts given to customers by an affordable restaurant specializing in seafood.
That same symbol had been on the fishing boat Lin Feng saved last month.
Susan had several of those charms, which proved that she had visited that restaurant more than once.
In other words, Susan liked seafood! At that moment, Lin Feng was like Conan possessed.
Lin Feng pulled out his phone and searched for well-known seafood restaurants, deliberately choosing ones run by Chinese people.
He wanted to let Susan experience how mysterious Chinese chefs prepared seafood.
In his memories, there were so many ways to cook seafood that it was dazzling, and every flavor was better than the last.
With Chinese chefs' unique culinary skills, Susan was sure to have a wonderful experience.
"Hello? Hi, I'd like to reserve a table for two." Lin Feng called a restaurant.
"I'm sorry, sir, but all our tables are booked! You can reserve a table for tomorrow..." An apologetic voice answered from the other end, speaking friendly Chinese.
"Oh? Never mind, then..." Lin Feng hung up, thinking to himself, Damn, no wonder it's a restaurant run by fellow Chinese. Is business really this booming?
It was not even lunchtime yet, and all the dinner tables had already been booked?
Lin Feng did not dwell on it and called several more seafood restaurants in a row.
To his surprise, every restaurant that met his standards was fully booked! He could not make a reservation, and even offering more money did not work!
Lin Feng was dumbfounded...
What was going on? Was business really this good?
Who was it that said the path of love was full of thorns? Was his first date already getting off to a bad start?
Holding his phone, Lin Feng fell into deep thought. Sure enough, romance was not so simple...
"Hm? How did I forget about him?" After thinking for a long time, Lin Feng suddenly slapped his thigh and dialed another number...
"Sir, Mr. Lin Feng is calling."
In the workshop, Tony was busy repairing his armored helmet when JARVIS's voice suddenly sounded.
Tony paused in the middle of his work and ordered, "Hm? Put him through..."
"Hey! Tony!" A holographic screen popped up in the workshop, displaying Lin Feng's large face.
"Well, if it isn't our superhero?" Tony teased. "What, not saving the world today?"
"Uh..." Lin Feng was speechless. After not seeing him for a while, Tony was still just as sharp-tongued.
"Superman needs a break too!"
"And you? Haven't been out fighting the evil you always talk about lately?" Lin Feng shot back.
Tony was completely unfazed. He raised the helmet in his hand to show him. "My armor's getting another upgrade! I'll let them live a little longer for now..."
Then he smugly added, "This armor will be faster, tougher, and easier to put on!"
Faced with Tony's bragging, Lin Feng gave a disdainful snort. "Upgrade all you want... you still can't take a single punch from me!"
He had won that round!
"Alright, buddy, what do you need?" Tony was feeling a little numb and did not want to hear Lin Feng's voice anymore. "If it's nothing, I'm hanging up. I'm busy!"
"Of course it's something, Tony! Something important!"
Lin Feng briefly explained that he was going on a date that night.
Tony had initially shown no interest, but the moment he learned this was Lin Feng's first date, his face instantly filled with an amused, strange smile.
"That's it? You came to the right person!" Tony raised his nose to the sky. If there was anything Tony excelled at besides technology, it was definitely picking up women.
"Leave it to me! This is my specialty!" Tony snapped his fingers. "I guarantee I'll arrange everything perfectly for you."
"Alright, Tony, this is the first date of my life! I'm counting on you!" Lin Feng repeated solemnly, afraid Tony might pull some kind of stunt.
"No problem. Tonight, I'll arrange something special for you! I guarantee neither of you will ever forget tonight!" Without waiting for Lin Feng to respond, Tony hung up.
"Hey! Pepper, where are you?" After hanging up, Tony clapped his hands and called upstairs. "Our little Superman has fallen in love! I need your help!"
