"Lin Feng!" Victor shouted.
His strength alone was not enough to sever the power connecting them.
Having read the original story, Lin Feng naturally understood what he meant.
In a flash, he rushed over, placing his hands against two Mother Boxes and pushing outward.
Empowered by Red Kryptonite, Lin Feng was far stronger than the original Clark.
With a loud bang,
the connection between the three Mother Boxes was instantly severed with barely any effort, and they fell to the ground.
They returned to their inactive state.
Steppenwolf had finally recovered somewhat and got back to his feet.
He touched his head, his hand coming away covered in blood as pain and dizziness washed over him.
The scales on his upper body had been blasted apart by Heat Vision, exposing the flesh beneath.
Darkseid stood behind the Portal, watching him coldly.
The Mother Boxes had also returned to their inactive state, declaring his defeat.
Steppenwolf felt as though he had lost all face.
He had humiliated himself before his master once again.
"Roar!"
He roared furiously at Lin Feng and the others, his heart filled with unwillingness!
He had destroyed countless worlds, only to fall on a tiny Blue Star.
And under Darkseid's gaze, he had been defeated so miserably!
All he could do was roar helplessly and vent the fury in his heart.
The next second, his roar came to an abrupt halt.
Aquaman, showing no concern for fair play, thrust his trident from behind.
It pierced straight through Steppenwolf's heart!
Blood ran down the trident as searing pain swept through Steppenwolf's entire body.
Lin Feng, faithfully following the original story, swiftly stepped forward.
With one punch, he sent Steppenwolf flying toward the Portal.
Diana followed up, leaping into the air and bringing her weapon down in a vicious slash that severed Steppenwolf's ugly head.
Under the group's small chain attack,
Steppenwolf's body and head fell separately into the Portal...
They even rolled a few times.
Darkseid stepped on the still-rolling head and stomped down hard.
Steppenwolf's last remaining horn snapped, the light vanished from his eyes, and he stopped breathing.
The battle against Blue Star had ended in Blue Star's complete victory.
Lin Feng, Batman, Diana, and the others all walked up to the Portal and faced Darkseid from afar.
The meaning was clear: if he came, he would remain here forever!
Darkseid breathed heavily, his anger impossible to quell. He had failed once again.
With the Mother Boxes separated, the energy-starved Portal slowly closed.
What no one noticed was that
a thin black thread, so faint it was nearly invisible, quietly avoided everyone's sight and slipped into Lin Feng's body.
Watching the Portal close, Darkseid turned toward the figure beside him, completely shrouded in black robes.
He forcibly suppressed his anger.
"Exile! Is this what you meant by saying there would be no accidents?"
A shrill, piercing voice came from beneath the black robes. "Are you questioning me, Darkseid?!"
Darkseid glared at Black Robes with rage in his eyes but said nothing further.
He still had use for the Exile and did not want to provoke him.
"Don't worry," the Exile's shrill voice rang out again.
"That troublemaker won't have it easy!"
After saying that, the Exile slowly vanished from where he stood, leaving Darkseid with nowhere to vent his anger.
"I told you long ago," DeSaad said in a low voice. "Steppenwolf would fail."
"My master, the Mother Boxes have now been destroyed."
"How will you reclaim your grand prize?"
Darkseid gave him a cold glance. "The Anti-Life Equation has already been found. I will obtain him at any cost."
"Even if I have to use the ancient method!"
As the Portal closed, the system's pleasant reward notification sounded beside Lin Feng's ear.
"Congratulations, host, for successfully completing the mission to save the DC World!" "Rewards are now being calculated!" "This mission has awarded the host 10 million Reputation Points." "This mission has been rated A-grade. Reward: 10 million Reputation Points." "A gift from the convergence of worlds: 8 million points." "The host has obtained a total of: 28 million Reputation Points!"
Nice! Lin Feng was startled.
He had not expected to receive so many Reputation Points!
A full 28 million points!
Sure enough, high risk brought high rewards!
Lin Feng sighed. He had made an absolute killing this time.
Adding his original ten million,
Lin Feng now had more than 40 million Reputation Points!
Exchanging for the Silver Superman Template was just around the corner...
Blue Star's threat had finally dissipated, and Batman and the others gradually relaxed.
Their sense of responsibility and honor drove them to resist every disaster that threatened Blue Star.
The group gathered and climbed to the top of the tower, welcoming the arrival of dawn.
Facing the rising sun, Clark stepped forward and stood before everyone.
He said apologetically, "I'm very sorry, everyone!"
"I saw everything I did. It's hard for me to believe that I was the one who did those things..."
As he spoke, Clark lowered his head, his heart full of guilt.
Though he had been controlled, every memory of what he had done remained in his mind.
He felt deeply ashamed.
The others exchanged glances, all understanding that no one blamed Clark.
Clark had been controlled. None of his actions had been of his own will.
Diana stepped forward and comforted him. "This isn't your fault, Clark!"
"We all know you were controlled!"
"This was not your fault!"
Clark looked up at Diana, her eyes filled with sincerity.
That eased his guilt somewhat.
Bruce stepped forward as well. He extended his hand, then stopped in midair.
After hesitating for a moment, he still gently patted Clark on the shoulder.
"It's good that you're back, Clark!"
"Bruce..."
He remembered that one blast of Heat Vision had nearly taken Bruce's life.
Barry also stepped forward, looking at Clark with equally sincere eyes. "As long as you're back to normal, you're still my idol!"
Aquaman and Victor were not familiar with Clark, merely nodding at him.
"You all..." Feeling that none of them blamed him, Clark's emotions became complicated.
Finally, Clark turned his gaze toward the fellow Kryptonian who had traded blows with him evenly,
yet whom he had never met before...
Seeing Clark look over, Lin Feng approached with a smile and held out his hand.
"Let's get acquainted. My name is Lin Feng!"
Clark shook his hand and asked uncertainly,
"Are you... also a Kryptonian?"
Lin Feng nodded, then shook his head.
He understood Clark's loneliness. Being the sole survivor of his race was a kind of isolation ordinary people could hardly bear.
Seeing Clark's confusion, Lin Feng explained, "I do indeed have Kryptonian blood."
"But I'm not a Kryptonian from this universe!"
"I come from another universe!"
Hearing Lin Feng's answer, Clark was momentarily dazed.
"Could you... tell me more about it?" Clark asked.
"Of course, Clark!"
"But I think we all need to rest first!"
"And you should go see Martha and Lois first..."
As soon as Lin Feng finished speaking, Clark immediately thought of his mother and his girlfriend.
"Yes, I need to see them!"
He had come back to life. This was his second chance, and he needed to go see his mother.
He also had to finish his proposal. Lois had not yet given him her answer.
Looking at Batman and the others again, Clark's meaning was obvious.
Batman stepped forward and patted his shoulder again. "Go, Clark!"
"Go see them first! Then get some proper rest."
"Once you've rested, come find us at the base!"
Clark nodded, then shot into the sky and vanished from everyone's sight.
Clark had left.
Bruce looked toward Lin Feng.
"Lin! Want to stay at my villa for a few days?"
"You're not planning to leave right away, are you? Let us treat you properly for a while!"
Lin Feng had played a leading role in this invasion battle. Without him restraining Clark, their chances of winning would have been infinitely close to zero.
Diana added, "That's right, Lin Feng. How about I show you around Metropolis?"
"I know lots of great food! I can take you to try it!" Barry also came over and said.
Seeing their enthusiastic invitation, Lin Feng nodded as well.
He smiled and said, "Sure! I'll stay here for a few days."
"Besides, I still need to tell Clark about Krypton!"
He decided to answer some of Clark's questions about Kryptonians.
Across countless universes, there were many Kryptonians. He wanted Clark to know that they existed.
He wanted Clark to stop believing that he was the only survivor of his race.
"Sorry for the trouble over the next few days!" Lin Feng said.
At that, everyone smiled and nodded.
"It's no trouble at all, Lin!" Diana said with a smile.
"Let's head back first and get some rest. I think everyone's tired," Bruce arranged.
He rubbed his lower back. He had been struck by a Parademon weapon earlier, and it hurt a little.
He needed Alfred to prepare something cold for it...
