Light smiled, her expression as stiff as ever.
The human face she had fashioned was beautiful, but Lin Feng really wanted to tell her to stop smiling.

"Yes, Chief. I must say, you're the cleverest chief I've met so far."
Great. Flattery from a machine. Lin Feng felt a little awkward.
"Jin Henry is gone, and you've inherited his entire faction."
"So we'd like to sign a new contract."
"Our race would still be allowed to mine and live on this planet without restrictions."
"We'd also like to add one provision: permission to use the Infinite Energy Furnace for biological experiments..."
After all that groundwork, Light decided it was time to state her purpose outright.
By her analysis, the new chief preferred people to speak plainly, so she had kept her account of their troubles brief.
Given what she had deduced about Lin Feng's intelligence and way of thinking, she knew he would understand even if she left some things unsaid.
"Hold on," Lin Feng interrupted.
"Biological experiments? You don't mean experiments on humans, do you?"
If that was what she meant, he doubted he would agree.
His level of existence had risen considerably, but he still couldn't stomach cold-blooded human experimentation.
Light shook her head.
"We respect the ethical customs of humans and other races. The experiments we want to conduct would be on vicious Cosmic Beasts."
Cosmic Beasts were creatures found everywhere, and they ate anything they came across.
They were fierce, much like wolves on Blue Star. The difference was that Cosmic Beasts had almost no reason to speak of.
Attacks on living beings were common, and the Main Planet had Cosmic Beasts too.
Their meat was nearly inedible, so they rarely ended up on a dinner table. With
