"Can't you trace who sent it?" Devent asked.
He was the older brother, and the steadier of the two.
Evan frowned and tapped irritably at his terminal.
"Can't trace it. This is fucking weird."
"I say we just kill Diona. Who cares who sent the message?"
"We never should've let her go back then! Who the fuck knew someone could be born knowing the truth?"
Evan gave up trying and flung his hand aside in frustration.
Devent sighed too.
"You're right. We never should've let her go."
But there was no use bringing that up now.
They hadn't spared Diona out of mercy. They had simply decided that befriending another powerful figure would benefit them more than killing a baby.
They hadn't expected to receive a message like this all of a sudden.
There was no question about it: if nothing changed, Diona would bring them trouble.
