Jiraiya decided to personally take Kirito’s intelligence back to Konoha, wary that Root might learn of it. As preparations for the Nine-Tails Succession continued, Chizuru sent Kirito to spend what might be his last chance with Mito.

• Jiraiya created a shadow clone, gathered the four Anbu, and set off with them for Konoha to deliver the intelligence himself.
• Kirito emerged from the ground after Jiraiya left and reflected on how carefully the Sannin had concealed their meeting.

Kirito waited with Tsunade, Nawaki, and Momoka while Mito-sama spoke privately with Kushina, reflecting on their time together as Orochimaru arrived. Meanwhile, Madara Uchiha exploited a flaw in Mito-sama’s weakening seal to summon the Nine-Tails, which began breaking free as crimson Chakra erupted from her body.

• Kirito arrived at Mito-sama’s villa and waited with Tsunade, Nawaki, and Momoka while Mito-sama met with Kushina.
• Kirito remembered how Mito-sama had taught him Sealing Techniques and cared for him like family.

Mito’s seal failed, and the Nine-Tails escaped into the Forest of Death despite Kirito’s efforts to contain it. Konoha’s ninja temporarily restrained the beast, but after it broke free and sent the Third Hokage flying, Kirito bound it again as it prepared to fire a massive attack at him.

• The Third Hokage, Kirito, and Orochimaru tried to contain the Nine-Tails as it erupted from Mito, but the beast broke their chains and manifested outside.
• Kirito suppressed the Nine-Tails Chakra remaining in Mito while the Third Hokage and Konoha’s ninja attacked and temporarily restrained the Nine-Tails.
• Kirito left Mito with Tsunade and went to help the Third Hokage, while the Nine-Tails killed several ninja and broke free from its restraints.

Kirito and the Konoha ninja dragged the Nine-Tails toward the Sealing Altar with help from Jiraiya, Orochimaru, Tsunade, and their Summoned Beasts. A Kumogakure spy tried to kill Kirito, but Chizuru and Hatake Sakumo stopped him.

• Jiraiya arrived with Gamabunta and helped interrupt the Nine-Tails’ Tailed Beast Ball.

• Kirito asked Hatake Sakumo to take Chizuru somewhere safe, but the Third Hokage arrived and took responsibility for protecting her and Kushina.
• The Third Hokage rallied the Konoha ninjas, who dragged the Nine-Tails to the Sealing Altar as Hatake Sakumo guarded Kirito.

The Third Hokage entered Danzo’s prison cell to confront him over Root’s search for Hattori Masanari, and found Danzo waiting in darkness.
