Doctrine and Recruitment

“The Great Dao must be fought for.” 1

The sect does not consider entry into a Dao Academy equivalent to becoming a disciple. Students are given one hundred days to prove whether they merit advancement, and sect resources are restricted to those who meet its standards. 1

The first academy assessment is Spirit Pivot Aperture Opening. Cultivators must open thirty-six of the body’s three hundred and sixty apertures: completing the requirement within seven days earns an Excellent rating, while completion within fifteen days earns a Good rating; both may enter the Dao-Bearing Class. 1

Heaven-grade Spirit Root holders are generally placed in the Daozi Academy or directly admitted to the inner sect, rather than competing for ordinary academy places. 22

Dao Academy and Hundred-Day Grand Examination

Rather than wait for invasion, the sect resolves to conquer surrounding minor worlds. Young cultivators are assigned to infiltrate these worlds, conceal their auras, and break through using ritual arrays so the worlds gradually recognize them as natives; stronger sect forces can then enter with less suppression. 216
