Background / History

Jiang Xuan possesses the merged memories of two lives: a modern college student who had been playing Skyspirit Realm, and a youth raised in the Divine Firmament Sect’s outer sect. The game fused with his true spirit during the merger, becoming a panel that displays his condition, cultivation progress, and available professions 1.

He was raised by Shen Yuerong and Jiang Quan. Jiang Quan possessed a lower Earth-grade spiritual root and accepted the Su Household’s patronage, gaining resources and an outer-sect position in exchange for serving its interests. He later died covering the household’s retreat during a demonic attack. The Su Household gave the family a pension and attempted to recruit Jiang Xuan as Su Linyin’s follower, but Jiang Xuan refused to repeat his father’s life as a dependent retainer 10.

His family’s remaining money was exhausted during a prolonged illness caused by the instability of his merging soul. Entering Star Daoist Academy with little wealth and only a middle-grade spiritual root, he initially faced the prospect of failing the academy’s assessment and becoming a servant or low-status outer disciple 1 10.

He is calm under ridicule and largely indifferent to social hierarchy. Although others interpret his equal treatment of Dong Hao as arrogance, Jiang Xuan believes strength, usefulness, and cultivation are more meaningful than displays of submission 6 16 17.
