After becoming king, Erik learned that Wakanda’s political structure required him to handle missions personally, while T'Chaka’s family planned how to prevent him from leading the country into war. The chapter ended with T'Chaka agreeing to confront Erik as T'Challa, Shuri, and Ramonda set out to seek the Ape Tribe’s help.

• The Border Tribe elder explained Wakanda’s military constraints and assigned Erik missions against threats near the country, so Erik chose to go alone in an aircraft.
• Okoye and W'Kabi discussed their distrust of Erik and said T'Chaka’s family was sheltered in Shuri’s laboratory.
• W'Kabi warned T'Chaka’s family that Erik might come after them, and T'Chaka explained his past conflict with N'Jobu and Erik’s likely plans for war.
• T'Challa proposed explaining the world’s current strength to Erik and seeking help from the Ape Tribe, while Shuri reported that Lu Qi had not responded.

• Odin returned to Earth after destroying several of Thanos's fleets and told Lu Qi that rumors about his supposed victory over Celestial squads were spreading.
• Lu Qi tried to head to Earth to punish Thor, but Odin stopped him and revealed that the Orb had been found on Morag.
• Odin used Heimdall to bring Thor back from Earth, but Lu Qi followed through a portal and slammed Thor into the Bifrost Hall floor.

Lu Qi defeated Rhodey and Nebula after they tried to seize his Infinity Stones, then discovered that Thanos had been watching through the connection between the two Nebulas. He let the pair go and sent a Shadow Ninja to follow Star-Lord while he searched for directions.

• Lu Qi refused to hand over the Infinity Stones, so Rhodey and Nebula attacked him and were quickly subdued by his Giant Pincer Soldier and Shadow Ninjas.
