The greatest difficulty of Tier Six was what was known as insight. Pain came second.

The insight was this: when someone in the Sacrifice to the Gods Land stepped into Tier Five, in that instant, the master of the Sacrifice to the Gods Land would effectively undergo an immense linked ascension within an extremely short span of time.

A soul already filled to overflowing at the pinnacle of Tier Five would suddenly have the ascension power of one new Tier Five—or even several Tier Fives—crammed into it, along with all their memories, insights, and more.

The laws of heaven and earth did not care whether one could withstand it. However many people advanced within the Sacrifice to the Gods Land, that many people's ascension power and capacity would be dumped onto its master all at once.

A vast amount of ascension power would come with every person's advancement, each bringing the master of the Sacrifice to the Gods Land another share.

As a result, anyone slightly lacking would have their soul burst apart on the spot.

An empty vessel could not bear too much nourishment—or rather, too much nourishment could stuff a person to death.

But if, during that linked ascension, one gained insight and could glimpse a higher structure of the laws in that instant, fully accommodating all the ascension power, then one had successfully crossed the most difficult step of becoming an Earth Immortal.

For Lin Xin, however, this was not a problem.

Rather than calling it insight, it would be more accurate to say that he forcefully swallowed all the ascension power whole.

Back in the Netherworld, his soul had already been continuously tempered and strengthened through wave after wave of pain.
