The sword tip rapidly closed in on the Long-Eared Tiger's soft, white-furred belly. Its point almost touched the white pelt.
Lin Xin's mind was nearly blank. He could only watch as the Long-Eared Tiger pounced straight at him, his body too slow to react. All he could do was grip the longsword in his hand with all his strength.

The blade snapped like a dry twig, and a tremendous force from the side slammed his whole body away.
"Senior Brother, run!!"
Only then did An Ying's voice reach him.
She had fiercely kicked Lin Xin away. Her own right leg was savagely clawed by the Long-Eared Tiger, and the enormous force sent her tumbling across the ground for a long distance.
"An Ying!" Lin Xin scrambled up from the ground and shouted.
"Don't worry about me! Go first, I'm fine!" An Ying sprang to her feet and thrust her blade at the Long-Eared Tiger's eyes with a swish.
Lin Xin also knew that he was a burden. The best thing he could do now was get out of the Long-Eared Tiger's hunting range.

With an angry roar, the Long-Eared Tiger pounced at An Ying. She nimbly dodged aside, but her injured leg made her movements sluggish. She had only barely avoided it, making the sight utterly perilous.
One person and one tiger circled several large trees in the forest, dodging left and weaving right.
"Damn it!" Lin Xin inwardly cursed his own carelessness and underestimation of the Long-Eared Tiger. But there was no helping it now. He quickly ran into the distance. As long as he escaped first, it would be much easier for An Ying to get away.
