After sending Kaido that message from Dressrosa, Oak packed up and set off with Shiki for Newgate's territory.
Riding aboard Shiki's Floating Island meant Oak didn't have to travel or fly on his own. It was a little slower, but he could relax and enjoy the scenery along the way.
Trafalgar Law, Kuma, Mansherry of the Tontatta, and several others came along. Most of them had spent their lives at sea, and this was their first time sailing through the sky. They crowded along the island's edge, gazing curiously at the view.
Shiki moved closer to Oak.
"That Kaido brat still hasn't amounted to much. He follows you around every day. He's one of the Four Emperors now, but he hasn't made a bit of progress!"
Shiki's voice dripped with contempt as he judged Kaido after hearing Oak's earlier call.
"Say that to Kaido's face if you've got the guts!"
Oak rolled his eyes at him.
"I'd bet he beats the shit out of you!"
Oak figured that if Kaido heard what Shiki was saying behind his back, the two would definitely fight. And with Kaido's current strength...
Before his recovery, Shiki would have gotten the shit beaten out of him. Even now that he had recovered, Oak glanced at him and figured he would probably still lose to Kaido.
Kaido might act like a kid brother around Oak, but his strength was already at least on par with Newgate's and Shiki's back in their Hachinosu days. He might even be stronger. Shiki's body had recovered, but age kept him from bringing out his full strength at its peak. Beating a powerhouse in his prime like Kaido would be tough.
Shiki exploded at that.
"What?"
"That brat could beat the..."
"Even with one hand, I'd still take him!"
Shiki refused
