With that one lift of his arm, Oak sent Newgate and Shiki stumbling back more than a dozen steps each. They swayed before regaining their footing. The blow had barely hurt them, but what Oak had just said was downright insulting.
What did he mean, we're not good enough either?!
Newgate and Shiki exchanged a dark look. Oak's assessment left them seething, but they had to admit they really weren't good enough. Not compared to him, at least.
Even together, they couldn't make Oak take the fight seriously. He had pushed them back without a second thought.
They both knew Oak well. They knew what he looked like when he was serious.

Newgate and Shiki were both filled with mixed feelings.
They had wanted to test the limits of Oak's strength, but that was clearly impossible. If they could make him take the fight even a little seriously, they would have done well today. They realized that, but neither intended to stop.
Even if they couldn't find his limit, they wanted to see just how wide the gap between them had grown. So they continued fighting together, launching a fierce assault on Oak.

Knowing how strong Oak was, they stopped holding back. Shiki pressed one hand to the ground and flipped up the earth beneath most of the island, shaping it into a pride of lions a thousand meters tall that slammed toward Oak.
"Lion's Majesty: Earth Roll!"
Lifelike lion heads surrounded Oak from every direction, threatening to bury him.
