Golden Lion Shiki confronted Eustass Kidd and challenged him to prove his strength, while Kidd’s crew struggled with the Pirate Alliance’s hold over the New World. Shiki effortlessly repelled Kidd’s attack, and Killer rallied the crew to join the fight.

• Killer told Kidd that the Pirate Alliance was squeezing other crews out of the New World and revealed he had arranged a meeting with Basil Hawkins and Scratchmen Apoo to discuss an alliance.
• Kidd and his crew left the tavern and encountered Golden Lion Shiki, who identified Kidd and demanded that he fight to earn a place sailing under him.
• Kidd activated his magnetic ability and gathered metal to attack Shiki, who raised the ground into an airborne platform to keep the battle from damaging the town.
• Kidd formed the gathered metal into a huge mechanical arm and swung at Shiki, but Shiki caught it with one hand and sent Kidd flying back.
• Killer ordered the crew to attack and support Kidd, earning Shiki’s approval of his loyalty as a second-in-command.

Shiki tested Kidd and Killer, then brought the Kid Pirates to a Floating Island and challenged them to defeat or injure him if they wanted to leave. After fifteen days of failed attacks and tricks, Killer grew despairing, but Kidd still refused to give in.

• Shiki defeated Kidd and Killer’s attacks and used his Float-Float Fruit to trap the rest of the Kid Pirates in the arena.

Oak planned to bring Elbaf and Zou into the Pirate Alliance and move Fish-Man Island to the surface, then left Hachinosu to handle the arrangements. Hancock stayed behind after making him promise to answer her calls and keep his other women on the island.
