Chapter Summaries

Lucas learned that Black Maria’s Beautiful Dream Bodies could last about three days, then guided Black Maria and Hiyori in training. In Foosha Town, Bluejam stormed into Makino’s tavern demanding to know where Randall was, and Makino denied knowing him.

• Hiyori used her power over time to test how long Black Maria’s Beautiful Dream Body could last, and it eventually dissolved after about three days.
• Lucas assessed the Beautiful Dream Body’s traits and concluded it could be useful for assassination missions.
• Black Maria asked Lucas to guide her training, and he brought Hiyori to train with both women.
• At PARTYS BAY, dockworkers noticed Makino’s increased strength and a change in her appearance.
• Bluejam kicked down the tavern doors, demanded Randall’s whereabouts, and threatened Makino.
• Makino said she did not know Randall and told Bluejam to leave if he was not there to eat or drink.

Makino killed Bluejam after he threatened her, then told Lucas what had happened. Lucas persuaded her to accept that stopping dangerous people could protect others, and tasked Kuro with dealing with Bluejam’s associate Berjemi; Kuro accepted the assignment.

• Bluejam threatened Makino and shot at a worker, but Makino caught the bullet and flicked it through Bluejam’s throat.
• Makino closed PARTYS BAY, cleaned up, and returned home, where Lucas arrived through an Air Door and asked about her control of her strength.
• Makino explained Bluejam’s attack, and Lucas offered to deal with the man’s underling; after persuading her through the night, he changed her view of preventing future harm.
• Lucas contacted Kuro the next morning and summoned him to PARTYS BAY, where Kuro arrived that afternoon.
• Lucas asked Kuro to take care of Berjemi, and Kuro promised to complete the assignment.

Hawkins foresaw the deaths of several Federation officers and warned Lafitte, who suspected an impending invasion. Meanwhile, Lucas promoted Kuro after he killed Berjemi, leaving Kuro to prepare to take over as East Blue’s regional head.

• On the Queen Mama Chanter, Charlotte Linlin ate dessert while three of her crew watched from outside the cabin.
• Hawkins divined that several burly men had only a 1% chance of surviving until the next day and reported the warning signs to Lafitte.
• Lafitte identified the doomed men as former King's Army commanders and called a number on his encrypted satellite phone.
• Lucas burned Berjemi’s head to ash and told Kuro he would promote him to overall head of the East Blue region.
• Kuro accepted the promotion and left to hand over his current duties.

Lucas learned that Charlotte Linlin had brought the Big Mom Pirates into Federation waters and ordered the Federation’s leaders to prepare for battle. Charlotte Linlin then attacked a crowded amusement park with Zeus, leaving the families below in immediate danger.

• Vegapunk’s reproduced Jet Dials enabled the Federation to launch satellites cheaply and replace Den Den Mushi communications with satellite phones.
• After hearing a report, Lucas called Kalifa, then asked Shyarly to check for danger; she saw no natural disaster, and Violet spotted the Big Mom Pirates’ fleet nearby.
• Lucas recognized Charlotte Linlin as the likely threat and gathered the Federation’s senior leadership by Telepathy to warn them and prepare for battle.
• Roringer Rogan took his wife and young son to an amusement park during an unexpected day off.
• Charlotte Linlin arrived above the amusement park on Zeus and ordered him to attack, sending lightning down toward the visitors.

Charlotte Linlin attacked Broccoli Island, killing Luolinge and devastating the amusement park as Federation forces responded. After Gion arrived through an Air Door, she attacked Charlotte Linlin with Precipice Blades.

• Charlotte Linlin’s lightning destroyed the amusement park, and Luolinge shielded his wife and son before dying from his injuries.
• Charlotte Linlin demanded that Vampire appear, while Shaka alerted Federation leadership and garrisons rushed to Broccoli District.
• Android soldiers fired on Charlotte Linlin as Tontatta rescue units carried injured visitors to safety.
• Charlotte Linlin emerged unharmed and used Ikoku to destroy the android soldiers and nearby buildings.
• Gion stepped through an Air Door and launched Precipice Blades at Charlotte Linlin.

Gion fought Charlotte Linlin with her Float-Float Fruit and swordsmanship but was badly injured by Linlin’s lightning. Bullet took over the fight while Kalifa helped Gion, and Lucas left the battle to continue under Issho’s supervision.

• Charlotte Linlin shattered Gion’s stone defenses and overwhelmed her attacks with her Haki and Homies.
• Gion fought Charlotte Linlin at close range, but Linlin blocked her sword strike and blasted her with Zeus’s lightning.
• Gion collapsed amid the ruins, and Bullet charged out of the Air Door to replace her against Charlotte Linlin.
• Kalifa supported Gion, who regretted failing to push her Haki further in the fight.
• Shaka asked Lucas whether he would intervene, and Lucas pointed out that Issho was containing the damage and evacuating civilians.

Smoothie led a raid through an evacuated district, where Black Maria ambushed her and slaughtered her pirates using illusions and bloodsucking spiders. Smoothie emerged from the rubble, grew to twelve meters tall, and unleashed a massive Flying Slash at Black Maria.

• Smoothie and her pirates found the Dressrosa District deserted, so she ordered a retreat to the Queen Mama Chanter.
• Kalifa teleported Black Maria in front of Smoothie, and Black Maria blocked Smoothie's sword before punching her through a house.
• Black Maria ensnared the pirates with Beautiful Dream Bodies that embodied their loved ones, then used the illusions to kill them.
• Smoothie escaped the rubble and found her subordinates dead as Black Maria's spiders fed on their blood and grew larger.
• Smoothie enlarged herself with stored moisture and swung a towering Flying Slash at Black Maria.

Black Maria pressed Smoothie with her Beautiful Dream Body and Hasshoken attacks, while Perospero’s attack on the Pleasure District drew Pedro and Caesar into the fight. Perospero retreated from Caesar’s vacuum attack, and Caesar hurled a gas lasso after him.

• Black Maria used the Beautiful Dream Body to block Smoothie’s Flying Slashes, then attacked her with Haki-coated spider legs and Hasshoken shock waves.
• Perospero fired Haki-coated candy arrows at the Pleasure District headquarters, damaging nearby homes and prompting Pedro to charge him.
• Caesar emerged from the headquarters and used Karakuni to drain the air around Perospero and Pedro.
• Pedro retreated beyond the vacuum’s range, while Perospero also withdrew and complained that his plan had gone wrong.
• Caesar formed a gas rope and threw Gas Lasso at the retreating Perospero.

Perospero fled Caesar while Shiryu and Weevil fought Big Mom Pirates across the Federation. Charlotte Opera confronted Lafitte, whom he blamed for his brothers’ deaths, and launched an attack after Lafitte tried to provoke him.

• Perospero defended himself against Caesar with candy weapons, then escaped through the buildings to cause destruction elsewhere while Caesar pursued him.
• Shiryu cut down the Big Mom Pirates’ crew left aboard a tart ship at the harbor.
• Weevil decimated pirates outside the Presidential Palace, then left when Lafitte offered him a rice ball and told him to go elsewhere.
• Charlotte Opera remained to face Lafitte, driven by his desire to avenge his four dead brothers.
• Lafitte struck at Opera with a Haki-reinforced air attack, and Opera blocked it before launching himself at Lafitte with a cream-covered fist.

Lafitte defeated Charlotte Opera in a street battle, and Lucas killed Opera by draining his blood through an Air Door. In Aplunam District, Smoothie escaped her pursuers but found herself weakened by the lack of living creatures and attacked Black Maria with a high-pressure water jet.

• Lafitte used his Haki and Hasshoken to break through Charlotte Opera’s cream defenses and destroy his arm and shoulder.
• Lafitte signaled Lucas through a security camera, and Lucas opened an Air Door behind Charlotte Opera and drained the blood from his body.
• Smoothie fought her way out of Black Maria’s encirclement and charged from Dressrosa District into Aplunam District.
• Smoothie realized the deserted district left her without enough moisture to strengthen herself, so she attacked Black Maria with a high-pressure water jet.
• Black Maria used Hasshoken to shatter Smoothie’s water jet into droplets.
