Coulson felt a little pressured under Yake's gaze.

As S.H.I.E.L.D.'s social butterfly, he was quite experienced, but when facing someone like Yake who never played by the rules, he still felt somewhat intimidated.

"Mr. Yake, the Tesseract has become unstable. It brought an enemy from beyond Earth—Loki. I wonder if you remember him?"

"Thor's brother? I did meet him. What did he do?"

Yake nodded. Everything was still under control.

"He stole the Tesseract, killed more than thirty of our agents, and declared that he wanted to conquer Earth."

As Coulson spoke, he watched Yake's expression. He was a man well-versed in reading microexpressions, but Yake always looked lazy and uninterested in everything. Coulson's efforts were wasted.

"So? You want me to help you capture Loki?"

Yake looked at Coulson with a faint smile. Don't tell me they're going to try moral blackmail again? Everyone knows I, Yake, have no moral compass.

Coulson inwardly knew things were not looking good when he heard Yake's words, but remembering Fury's orders, he gritted his teeth and forced himself to speak.

"Mr. Yake, if you are willing to join us, Director Fury will agree to any condition you name!"

Yake sat up straight at once. Had he misheard? That crafty Black Egg with persecution paranoia was actually willing to bleed this much? He had almost agreed on the spot.

"Ahem. You don't have the authority. I want to speak with your director!"

Without another word, Coulson took out his phone and called Fury. He did not hesitate in the slightest, as though he had wanted to do this all along.

"Coulson, how did it go?"

"Sir, Mr. Yake wants to speak with you personally."

"..."

"Sigh, give him the phone."
