Hulk gave Steve a simpleminded grin and charged straight into the building.
Thor rushed toward a towering skyscraper topped with a pointed lightning rod, which would make it easier for him to gather lightning. He raised his hammer, and blue electricity accumulated around its head. Then... then nothing happened.
The dark clouds filled the sky, but the lightning serpents paid no attention to Thor, leaving him clinging awkwardly to the lightning rod.
"Come on! Hurry up!"
After trying for a long time without success, Thor finally realized that all he could do was use the hammer itself. Giving up on the idea of drawing down lightning, he simply started smashing people with it.
"Raigo!"
Yake stood before the Tesseract and raised his right hand high. Lightning continued to gather in his palm, and soon a sphere of lightning began to take shape. But he was not finished. After charging for so long, there was still plenty of electricity in the dark clouds.
The lightning sphere grew larger and brighter, until everyone was forced to turn their attention toward it.
"My God! Thor? You're the God of Thunder?"
"That's what my father says..."
Steve fell silent when he saw the lightning sphere atop Stark Tower. He had never witnessed such tremendous power. Perhaps he really had fallen behind the times. The strongest being he had ever seen was Hulk, but compared with Yake, even Hulk came up a little short.
"Sir, I've detected a high-energy reaction. The unknown energy has reached the equivalent of five hundred million tons of TNT."
"What! Are you kidding me? You're saying the commotion Yake caused is comparable to hundreds of nuclear bombs?" Stark froze in midair. He casually fired a small bomb backward, killing a Chitauri, then stared at the sky and muttered to himself
