Yake sat on a lonely rock, bathing in the moonlight, when an adorable little bat slowly flew over.
It transformed back into its original form in front of Yake: a girl in a black bodysuit. Though she was old enough to be Yake's great-great-grandmother, Mavis had only just come of age by vampire standards—or, more precisely, she was still one day away from adulthood.
Seeing that Mavis still wanted more, Yake smiled and asked, "What's wrong? Haven't had enough fun yet?"
Mavis had been happy at first, but the sight of Yake's face covered in lipstick marks made her feel upset again. That flirtatious bastard...
When Yake saw Mavis's expression fall the moment she looked at him, he could not help sighing inwardly. This little girl doesn't really like me, does she? Yake shook his head. Dracula had probably kept Mavis under too tight a leash, and she had entered... a rebellious phase. Though this kid might have been rebelling for more than a decade.
"There'll be another chance. Let's go home!"
Yake snapped his fingers, and the lipstick marks on his body vanished. A thick blue-gray mist enveloped them both and carried them back to Mavis's room at Hotel Transylvania.
"You're three minutes late!"
The moment Yake's feet touched the floor, Dracula rushed up to him with a resentful look. Yake gave an awkward laugh. "Well, Mavis, see you tomorrow. I need to find my nephew. Bye!"
Yake hurriedly slipped away. Dracula was fine in every way except for how strictly he watched over his daughter. Any normal man other than himself who approached Mavis would be targeted by Dracula. Yake had no intention of arguing with him; he was only here on vacation.
Sure enough, after Yake left, Dracula launched into a verbal barrage against Mavis. Mavis sighed.
