The little robots emitted a series of urgent yet utterly incomprehensible electronic sounds.

Vegapunk's eyes gleamed sharply.

"Language module... nonstandard frequency... but the structure..."

He practically lunged in front of Dawn. "Materials! I need basic electronic components and universal logic units. Then I can make them communicate with us."

Dawn waved a hand, and a pile of parts appeared at Vegapunk's feet. The genius scientist immediately crouched down, his fingers moving so fast they left Afterimages as he selected, assembled, and soldered.

He walked over to one of the robots and, before it could react, precisely found an almost invisible seam on its neck. With a slight exertion of force, he pried open its shell, exposing the complex and ancient circuit board within.

"You're very familiar with their construction?"

Dawn felt that Vegapunk did not seem to be seeing these robots for the first time.

"I once consulted Dr. Tsukimi," Vegapunk said without looking up as he connected his homemade language module to the main neural circuits.

"He was a scientist obsessed with highly intelligent robots and the moon. The construction of those robots was very similar to these ones."

With a soft click, the module finished connecting. The modified robot's head indicator flashed several times. When it spoke again, its voice had become mechanical but understandable:

Dawn asked directly.
