A semicircular Energy Shield hung like an overturned giant bowl, sealing the moon's desolation and deathly silence outside.
Franky lay on the laboratory table, his mechanical limbs reflecting the cold white light. His body now resembled a meticulously assembled industrial product: red spherical joints connected his shoulders, light blue cubes formed his forearms, his palms had been completely rebuilt into red mechanical structures, and nested within each palm was a normal-sized mechanical hand.
Shaka operated the scanner with three mechanical arms at once, beams of light sweeping across Franky's body.
"How did it feel?"
"SUPER—awesome!"
Franky raised his signature thumbs-up. "This body was practically custom-made for me!"
Dawn stood some distance away, a faint curve tugging at his lips. He had personally made this scene happen. Since Franky was being rebuilt anyway, Dawn had simply turned him directly into the version from the original story two years later. He did not understand the principles behind it, but he still remembered the appearance and some of its basic functions.
After lingering there for a moment, Dawn turned and walked toward the other side of the camp. Vegapunk's main body stood before a holographic projection table, his fingers rapidly swiping through the air as he called up streams of data. The formulas scrolling across the screen moved too quickly for the naked eye to follow, like a torrential downpour of numbers.
The technology recovered from the ancient city of Birka had captivated him so completely that he could not wait to fully understand it.
Dawn walked to the table and placed a stack of blueprints beside the light screen. The edges of the paper were yellowed and curled, and the top page bore that forbidden name in ancient writing—Pluto.
"Doctor, these are Pluton's design blueprints. See if you can replicate the weapon
