David's Revenge, captain's quarters.
Hancock lounged lazily across the soft bed, her chin resting on the Giant-sized pillow she shared with Dawn. Her long black hair spilled across the bed like a waterfall, while her delicate feet swayed gently in the air.
Her fingertips lightly traced the lingering scent Dawn had left on the pillow. A faint, nearly imperceptible longing showed on her face before she raised her head and looked toward Violet, who sat by the window.
"Violet, can you see what God's Knights are doing?"
"I can, but the situation is rather strange."
Violet slowly lowered the hands pressed against her eye sockets. Frowning, she gave a detailed report of what she had just discovered.
"They have remained on an unmarked island dozens of kilometers away, with no intention of moving at all.
"Furthermore, they have been sitting face-to-face in silence the entire time, without making any attempt to speak. I suspect they have already realized what my ability can do and are communicating through their shared mental space."
In the past, she had mostly gathered enemy intelligence through beyond-visual-range observation combined with lip-reading. This time, however, their lips had remained sealed from start to finish, without even the slightest mouth movement.
She immediately recalled what Dawn had specifically warned her about: the core members of God's Knights had all been branded with special marks by Imu, granting them a shared mental space through which they could communicate across vast distances.
The Glint-Glint Fruit's core ability to read current thoughts only worked when the target was right in front of her.
When observing from extreme distances, all she could use was the basic ability to see through buildings. Any further information could only be inferred through her own intelligence and the information already available.
"I see."
