In the New World, in a kingdom renowned for its desserts.
A piercing alarm suddenly rang through the entire port. Teams of fully armed pirates under the Big Mom Pirates, led by officer Pekoms, rushed out from the island.
They had originally come to collect this quarter's tribute of desserts, but unexpectedly encountered invaders. They decided to intervene; after all, this was Charlotte Family territory.
Wearing sunglasses, Pekoms stomped forward on his short legs, fury written across his face as he bellowed:
"Let me see which fool has the audacity to openly attack Charlotte Family territory!"
Pekoms was answered by an earth-shattering explosion.
"Boom!"
A tremendous explosion erupted at the port at the end of the street ahead. Then a terrifying shockwave, like a volcanic eruption, came surging toward them.
Buildings were as fragile as sandcastles built by children beneath that horrific impact. They cracked, collapsed, and burst apart with thunderous crashes, while the residents inside were blown into bloody pulp alongside the rubble and hurled into the sky.
A blood-scented storm swept toward Pekoms. It nearly blew his sunglasses away, forcing him to clutch the frames tightly.
Feeling the ground beneath his feet hum and tremble, and his body being helplessly pushed backward by the rolling blast, Pekoms finally showed a trace of alarm.
"An attack of this magnitude... whoever it is must be an expert!"
He struggled to steady himself, forced his eyes open, and looked toward where his Observation Haki had locked onto the enemy.
Crimson smoke rose from the shattered, devastated street. A blood-soaked figure holding a long-handled Pheasant Knife slowly stepped out of the billowing dust.
"Shichibukai... Edward Weevil!"
Pekoms trembled as he spoke the name, his voice shaking. It could not be helped. Unless they were of the same caliber, anyone would feel fear
