The leader lowered his head even further.
"The Mangekyō Sharingan. I saw it with my own eyes."
"His left eye's ocular technique can distort gravity, while his right eye can seal ninjutsu of specific attributes."
"Iwagakure's elite force of one hundred and twenty men couldn't even last ten breaths before him."
Another intelligence ninja spoke from the shadows.
"Iwagakure's surviving deserters also mentioned blood-red patterned eyes and incomprehensible ocular techniques. The Intelligence Division has cross-checked the information and confirmed it."
A low chuckle squeezed out of Danzo's throat.
He swallowed the shock from earlier, leaving behind something uglier than anger.
"War truly does ripen the Uchiha."
His breathing grew heavier.
Not from fear, but something else.
Like a man who had wandered through the desert for three days and nights, finally hearing the sound of water.
"What important thing did that brat lose in this war...?"
Danzo muttered to himself, releasing his cane with his left hand and slowly reaching toward his right arm.
A Root ninja asked quietly.
"My lord, should we report this to the Third Hokage immediately?"
Danzo turned to glance at him, and the man immediately pressed his head back to the ground.
"Hiruzen is old, and his heart has grown soft."
He slowly leaned back in his chair, his fingers unwrapping the outer bandages around his right arm inch by inch.
The instant the bandages loosened, the temperature in the stone chamber seemed to drop with them.
The skin on that arm was a sickly pale white, covered in spiderweb-like black veins.
At the points where those veins intersected were several tightly shut Sharingan, nailed into the pallid flesh by sealing formulas.
Those eyes occasionally rolled beneath the surging black veins, as if they were alive.
The coarse patterns formed by Hashirama Cells crawled upward
