When Nohibi turned around, he was so excited he looked like he had been injected with chicken blood, sprinting toward the Uchiha compound in huge strides.
Ye stood where he was and watched Nohibi's back vanish around the alley corner. He shook his head. A brainless fan was still a brainless fan, but at least he was easy to use.
He turned and pushed open the private room's door, returning to the dining table.
The steam and fragrance of tea washed over his face again.
Obito, Kakashi, and Rin were still sitting ramrod straight. Even their chopsticks had been placed back in the exact same direction.
Ye pulled out a chair and sat down, pouring himself half a cup of tea. Looking at Madara's calm profile, he spoke casually.
"Grandpa, the mess here in Konoha is more or less cleaned up. Where do you plan to go next?"
"You're not planning to return to that pitch-black crappy cave, are you? There isn't even a living person there."
The moment Obito had begun to relax, his back straightened again. Kakashi quietly shifted his gaze over, while Rin held her teacup without moving. All three of them instantly pricked up their ears.
Madara slowly set down his teacup. The bottom struck the wooden table with a soft tap.
He glanced at Ye, his tone utterly domineering.
"I'm not leaving. There was never anything worth missing in that cave."
The answer was simple and decisive, with no room for discussion.
"I'll find a quiet little courtyard in the village. From now on, I'll stay here with you."
Madara raised his right hand, and his broad palm landed on Ye's shoulder.
"If anyone dares touch even a single hair on your head again, I'll make sure they die without a whole corpse."
