Chu Xiyue and Mrs. Ji found a nearby café and sat down. After taking a sip of coffee and eating some pastries, Chu Xiyue told her how Qiu Baizhen had bribed the doctors and nurses to switch the babies back then, and how Ji Guowei had gone along with it.

Mrs. Ji had mentally prepared herself, but when she heard how Qiu Baizhen had plotted against her and how her husband had gone along with it, she still trembled uncontrollably with rage.

However, Mrs. Ji had started a business alongside Ji Guowei and weathered many storms. After a few minutes, she calmed down.

Her fingertips trembled slightly, but she still asked, "After they took my child away, where did they put her?"

Over the years, Mrs. Ji had never heard that Qiu Baizhen had a child. So where exactly was her child now? Was she doing well?

Chu Xiyue glanced at Mrs. Ji, shook her head, and said, "After they took your child out of the hospital, they casually abandoned her on the street."

Chu Xiyue sighed and handed her a napkin. "Your daughter is still alive. She was found back then and sent to the Orphanage."

"A daughter? She was a girl?" More than thirty years later, Mrs. Ji finally learned that the child she had given birth to was a daughter. Hope reignited in her despairing eyes. She sprang to her feet, grabbed Chu Xiyue's hand, and asked in a trembling voice, unable to wait, "Where is my daughter now? She... has she been doing well all these years?"

Chu Xiyue looked at Mrs. Ji. "You probably would not believe me if I said she was doing well. For a child who grew up in the Orphanage, having enough to eat was already good enough."

Although surviving in the Orphanage was not a problem, living well was not easy.

"She still does not know her true parentage, and I do not know whether she is willing to acknowledge you. I need to ask for her opinion. If she is willing to acknowledge you, I'll tell you who she is."

After Chu Xiyue left the café, Mrs. Ji remained seated for a while longer before getting up and returning home.

The grief on her face had been completely concealed. Holding the two documents, she returned to the Ji Family home.

Calmly, she gathered evidence that Qiu Baizhen had bribed doctors and nurses to switch her child back then. She also collected DNA samples from Ji Peng and Ji Guowei and sent them in for testing.

She had originally wanted to confirm Ji Peng's identity as an illegitimate child and ruin his reputation within their circle, but the DNA test results were beyond her expectations.

Ji Peng and Ji Guowei had no father-son relationship.

Looking at the report, Mrs. Ji could not help laughing. When Ji Guowei had made her raise his mistress's child, he probably had not expected that he, too, was raising someone else's child.

After gathering all the evidence, she reported the case to the police station. Within two days, Qiu Baizhen was arrested by the police on charges of human trafficking.

He returned to the Ji Family home and saw Mrs. Ji sitting on the sofa, with two paternity test reports laid out before her.

Ji Guowei narrowed his eyes and asked, "Did you do this to Baizhen? Why did you do this?"

Mrs. Ji looked calmly at Ji Guowei. "Yes. She switched my child, so I sent her to prison. Is there a problem with that?"

"Have you thought about what this would do to Peng'er?"

Mrs. Ji laughed in fury and asked Ji Guowei, "He's an illegitimate child born to a mistress. He took my daughter's place for thirty-three years. The fact that I haven't destroyed him is already mercy enough. Ji Guowei, have you ever thought about my daughter, who was taken away by you people at birth, abandoned on the street, and whose whereabouts are still unknown? Do you have any conscience at all!"
