In the forest, an Insectified Beast let out a mindless roar and descended on cockroach wings. A moment later, a punch blew its head apart, and it crashed heavily to the ground.
A slender woman in a white lab coat, her expression impassive, crouched down again and continued collecting the samples she needed. She seemed to have no interest at all in the Insectified Beast she had just killed with one punch.
In fact, she had not looked at it once from beginning to end.
In the distance, the White River Yangtze roared without pause. Thousands of kilometers upstream along its milky-white waters, a huge boulder stood amid the rushing current, splitting the flow in two.
"Shit, we're going to hit it! Dodge!"
Nameless rode a crocodile downstream. He had not expected a huge rock in the river, and a startled cry escaped him.
But the crocodile he rode had grown two grasshopper legs. They worked remarkably well in the water, helping it accelerate. It was moving so fast with the current that it had no time to change course and dodge the boulder.
The crocodile was completely under his control, but it could not do the impossible just because Nameless ordered it to.
They were really going to crash!
Realizing the crocodile could not dodge, Nameless immediately flew up from its head. Just before it struck the boulder, he turned it into an Insect Character.
He landed atop the boulder. The Insect Character rose from the river as a streak of golden light and returned to his hand in an instant.
"Phew, that was too close."
Nameless glanced at the surging water behind him, wiped away sweat that was not there, and muttered to himself.
He slowly walked to the edge of the rock, about to release the crocodile
